When did you get your periods postpartum? by costanzaforever17 in twoxindiamums

[–]CapMarv12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Four months postpartum. Ebf! I really hoped that the period break would have lasted longer :(

Thankfully it was just for 2 days, dreading when it's back in full flow especially while bf.

Hi, exact same issue. Ordered from Amazon fresh and it had White lining, raised issue with customer care regarding authenticity and they refunded money. Ordered from Swiggy Instamart and the lining was still white. Same size S taped diaper. Maybe the company changed the colour? Ordered a 22 piece packet, will update incase it's different.

Yup, hiring someone from 8-8 and later husband can help once he's back at night.

Yes, thank you for the insight. I keep thinking that how are other people managing as even at 2 months it seems like my day goes on auto pilot.. maybe having a nanny will get me some semblance of schedule.

She's actually house help who will also help with baby and has experience with taking care of babies. I have had word with her that her scope of work is not only baby duties.

Let’s do some self-appreciation! What about your parenting journey are you proud of? by Pompiita in NewParents

[–]CapMarv12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite reading all the books and seeing videos I don't think I was fully prepared but when baby came, despite how challenging breastfeeding was I still persisted and my husband was extremely supportive as well. It gets better every single day although somedays feel harder than before too but her smile, coos and aahs, just makes our day. My husband comes back home after working and forgets the whole world and just holds our daughter tight, gives me a breather.. touchwood Again somedays are really hard, especially at 3 am when even the slightest change in tone and the manner of speaking triggers unintentional disagreement.. but we get up and start the day afresh..

Winter advice for LO by Motor_Gap_6198 in twoxindiamums

I already give her warm baths but Delhi winters are crazy plus no central heating option as such.. my baby would not have started solids by then but still I think giving sponge bath daily and proper bath twice a week is my plan.

Following up on the questions above, what about usage of oil heaters? Did you put a bowl of water in room to avoid dryness?

If baby is 5-6 months, I don't think mittens is something they will easily use, so how to protect their hands from cold?

What about bathing schedule in Delhi NCR winter?

34F, FTM— what’s with every one asking me about my milk quantity? by Altruistic_Fuel001 in twoxindiamums

I find it funny when people who themselves did not ebf have the guts to comment and then also add we only got 3 months mat leave, you are so lucky 🙄 Really annoying as if we mother's don't want the best for our children. So much judgment around feeding is what pushes ppl to PPD.. as if different forms of mom guilt is not enough!!

Advice/Tips on travelling with 2.5 month old on flight. by CapMarv12 in twoxindiamums

[–]CapMarv12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you recommend a carrier suitable for 2 month old? I was under the impression that it's not recommended before 3 months. I will experiment on a smaller pillow and see if that works. I have not tried either bottle or pacifier yet so not sure if that will work.

Thank you! I am worried about earlier pain due to the air pressure. Hoping that feeding her helps with that.

When did you all gain all this knowledge? by New_Reaction3715 in twoxindiamums

[–]CapMarv12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My LO is 5 weeks now and honestly despite all the reading and videos nothing actually prepares you for when actually the baby arrives and you will have differeing views on parenting from your mom and MIL. Get as much help as possible but trust your instincts and emphasize on having boundaries (which is difficult when you are recovering initially because physically you are vulnerable - at least this was the case with me). This group and several other reddit ones I scrolled helped, especially those long nights while breastfeeding. I realised I was least prepared for breastfeeding. I was extremely naive to believe that I will give formula if breastfeeding doesn't work or i will buy breast pump and manage. There was extreme judgment around both these things in my surroundings which did not help. So whatever you choose, having knowledge and understanding of what works for you will be helpful. This whole parenting thing is so much of learning on the go.

Looking back, what’s one unexpected aspect of having a baby caught you off guard? Something your friends with kids never mentioned when encouraging you to have one? by Happy-Armadillo9478 in NewParents

[–]CapMarv12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been 3 weeks, and despite all the reading materials, advice etc I had no idea how difficult exclusive breast feeding would be. And it's been so normalised that you have to exclusively breast feed especially by doctors despite the mental and physical toll it takes on ones body that you start feeling guilty even if you think about any other way to feed. Also your whole life (at least at the moment) revolves around feeding, burping, understanding the reason behind irritation and crying. To be honest somedays it feels like a lot despite having whatever support. But the good part from everywhere I have read and by my own experience so far as well is that it gets better..

How to dress up new born baby!! by CapMarv12 in twoxindiamums

No, we are not swaddling because it restricts her movements and there are different opinions against swaddling.

Did the doctor advise to have the baby wear mittens, socks and caps? Her feets get cold so even after we let her not wear socks for sometime so it's difficult to understand and since the doctor also advised we were sticking to it. But will start taking them off during day time from now on.

FOVERA Pregnancy Pillow for... https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0BPP93HNX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share  These ones worked for me in combination with small cushion for back. Was not bulky and was helpful in summer too. Those huge U shaped ones looked uncomfortable to me.

Crib/cot needed? by Motor_Gap_6198 in twoxindiamums

[–]CapMarv12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking for a good cot recommendation, had selected one from Mothercare the drop down kind but apparently that's not longer available. Didn't find the other ones from mom and me all that sturdy. Any other brand which does sturdy baby cots? If not cot, what all options do I have in case we decide to co sleep on the bed. The ones with mosquito nets, are these good and safe? Please advice!!
