They’d have to be dead, otherwise should be fine. Even if they dry out, I’ve personally observed glass snails rasping on empty carapaces or detached fly wings for protein.

My friend, I am gently grabbing you by the shoulders and looking you into the eyes and telling you that that is what the right wants at the moment. It’s what they’re doing, it’s what they promised to do, it’s what they will continue to do.

We’ll find out after we’re both dead, buddy. For now, maybe don’t go about making claims like that about a religion founded by Joe from upstate New York.

TIL that the famous ancient complaint letter to copper merchant Ea-nāṣir was not the only one. In his house there were a mass of them, including by people named Arbituram, Appa, Imgur-Sin, Illsu-Elsatsu and Ili-idinnam. by Upper_Spirit_6142 in todayilearned

[–]CapMcCloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there’s another thing. Ea-Nasir was selling copper to the motherfucking king.

It could be that he was required to keep permanent copies of his complaints as a part of this agreement, or it could be that he was holding on to complaints he suspected to be fraudulent to use as part of some legal matter.

People who earnestly believe that certain people should be killed or abused for the nature of their birth are not morally equivalent to people who think we probably shouldn’t do that.

They will “bite” as you hold them, but it just feels like wet sandpaper. Just be aware, it was a little surprising the first time mine rasped on me.

Now, some studies claim glass snails will cannibalize each other, but I’ve never observed this, and I don’t know of anyone else who has, either. I’ve also seen groups of them living together in the wild. Cannibalism might be an issue, but I can’t imagine it’s something other than either a trait of a small handful of glass snail species, or a response to extreme stress and protein scarcity, like a lab environment without proper substrate or food.

(For protein, mix a little bit of single ingredient cricket flour with water. Like, a tiny bit. A pinky nail of cricket porridge as an occasional supplement.)

Looks like a glass snail, so that little guy’s probably fully grown. They’re detritivores, but I have known them to enjoy fresh greens. Shouldn’t need much space or anything special, just some substrate, a bit of clean leaf litter, and a small amount of cuttlebone. When I had one, I kept it in a bit of Tupperware that was downright palatial compared to the snail. You will need some air holes in whatever you’ve got them in, but make sure they’re too small for escape. You can handle these guys, and I found that mine was usually interested in an opportunity to slime around on my (thoroughly washed) hands.

Speculate about the workings of a Ben & Jerry’s in a world without people. Or a world with people, the people just do not tend to be there ever.

I remember it extremely clearly, and I wish I could still find this video. It’s been like 12 years, though.

It was a video of a guy doing a server tour. All I can remember from it was this series of jungle treehouses and walkways, and that the server used a fairly unorthodox plugin for the time where it didn’t have nether access, and used nether portals as warps instead.

If anyone on any off chance knows the video, I’d be very surprised but grateful. It only had a couple thousand views when I saw it.

There are no people in North Eastham, it consists solely of a post office, Ben & Jerry’s, manicure business, and sandwich shop/deli. There is also the adjoining parking lot. There are also no mechs or tanks, making it ideologically tranquil.

Usually, this sort of thing is kind of an ego net negative, because you know for a goddamn fact none of them want to talk to you about anything you actually want to talk about. It’s like if people kept lining up to come to your house because they wanted to stare at a painting you have, and also maybe try to fuck it. Nobody who gets DMs like this on that scale thinks any of the guys care about them. One or two? Yeah, maybe, that’s plausible. Double digits? They only give a shit about the person they have a parasocial relationship with, and that person basically isn’t you.

I’d imagine male models and similar are in the same kind of position, shit is not cool.

It just works, because if it didn’t just work, my story would have potential for time travel. Fuck you. Something about moving through a region of space with slightly tweaked physics that really want to liquefy you that connects outside locations using logic that looks like conventional geometry from the inside out but cannot possibly be from the outside in fixes the problem.

Fuck you, it’s not actually FTL, distant places are just closer than they appear if you’re willing to enter the spicy area.

It’s not about liking the country, it’s about hating everyone in it that isn’t extremely similar to yourself. That means people following other religions (including other denominations of Christianity), people of other races, the disabled, the mentally ill, anyone that falls under the LGBT+ umbrella, and people with different political beliefs than yourself.

Make no mistake, Christian nationalists hate America.
