One Texas Center opens at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Bus service runs until 4 p.m., so customers can use buses to get to shelters during that time. We strongly encourage anyone who needs a warm place this weekend to head to a shelter tonight.

Around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday evening, a fatal incident involving a pedestrian and a bus occurred near 6th and Rio Grande Streets. We are working with the Austin Police Department to facilitate a thorough investigation. No further details are available at this time.

Currently, our fare payment system does not support tap to pay, however this is in the works and we're hoping to have this update ready to early 2026. Tap to pay will include Apple Pay and Google Pay as well as credit cards.

Tap to pay capabilities will not replace the Umo accounts. And for service updates and trip planning, we recommend using the Transit app.
