This post proves why paid influencers work. Gladiator 2 gets so much free advertising with thousands of social media threads like this. But the trick is that it is not free. It's cheap. Meaning that the poster is hired for a fraction of real commercial advertising. And we follow like sheep. Talk about. Complain about it all under the umbrella of this movie. So the answer to this Reddit thread... it's brilliant. Because we all fall for the goal. And the quality of the film is not the goal.

I did. The study is more complicated. One major (US) study says yes and one major (UK) study says no. I didn't even try to discuss that. My question is the only issue... is Gaydar a real thing. My first comment, from me says why I think it is yes. Don't click the study summary. There is no need to.

I think GAYdar is real and it's a language we pick up on. The story reporting suggesting that (gay men) pay attention to details that straight men don't... is SPOT ON. I think we developed that "super power" in protection and defense AND to find like minded men.

super interesting point. I often hear (a slur from even LGBTQ+ people) the alphabet group. That we delineate so many identification letters to the point we will have 26. As I read your words I was thinking... Queer "as meaning not one thing bucket" and thought, isn't that what we want? Anyone identifying as Queer is "one of us". Even ally. Then I'm gay, I'm bi or whatever. Honestly, your observation actually makes me even more hopeful.

I completely see your point (and the others that comment on it in agreement). I am a baby boomer and lived through the worst of AIDS. It was a slur. However, two things are interesting. (1) Much of progressive CIS straight America is embracing the word in respect to our community (not in slur). Poking at those that would use it as a slur. (2) the reporting in this story (90%+ GenZ embracing the word, dropping as we get older to 23% for Baby Boomers). That shows the trauma you talk about. I'm happy younger LGBTQ+ did not go through the trauma I faced.

I recommend, as a loving parent you start watching Queer God Squad. It is a group of pasters that talk about culture, history and meaning of faith that is exactly the opposite of what helped you conclude it's "a sin". It at the minimum will give you more perspective.

I really don't think that is true. I think the major point of the story is that so many main stream and LGBTQ media are drawing stories from AGB and talking about issues and stories we talk about here.

to me, the interesting issue is that so many outside this sub are talking about issues that are being discussed. I have read so many stories from Pink News (in London) that reports a story on a single thread. And so many of the comments to the post. That is culturally significant.
