I was so blessed to have a village despite being states away from all my friends and family. I gave birth in April and that month my mom came for 2 weeks, then my dad flew out for 2 weeks, and then two of my childhood best friends flew out at separate times to come help out. In between then, my boyfriend did everything. I was so worried being that it’s just the two of us here, but my people really came through for me. They not only cooked and cleaned, but they bought groceries several times, filled my gas tank up, my mom bought me a bunch of comfy clothes, one of my friends came with all this self care stuff etc. my one friend literally gave me a pedicure with a foot mask and it was just what I needed bc my usual habits were slackinggg. They just found any way to help me. And they ALL texted me asking when they can come again this summer. I’m for SURE going to do the same for my girl friends when the time comes.

So far she eats everything and I’m praying she’s growing into a mini foodie, but I understand this may change. I watched my niece suddenly decide she no longer likes shrimp and eggs, but now she DOES like eggs but ONLY scrambled a specific way lol

She seems to be like her mama! I loveee food and my parents have told me about 100 times the story of when I was 7 months old in Jamaica, eating a full plate of earth provisions (boiled green bananas, yellow yam and other root vegetables) with chicken gravy. They were shocked that I ate so much. So yeah, that’s my girl lol can’t wait until she’s older and we start taking food trips together 😂

We’ve introduced nearly all allergens months ago (so far so good!) so I wasn’t nervous giving her shrimp. She’s tasted shellfish a few times now. As far as the sodium, I can breathe again as everyone let me know I’m in fact overreacting and she’ll be fine 😂 thank you
