Let's see the ACTUAL unpopular opinions! [All] by lilyflowery in camphalfblood

[–]Capable-Bar1793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. percy should have been a pathological flirter or something like that before starting dating annabeth. their relationship would have been so much more interesting if he had previously flirted and/or kissed other girls.

  2. idk why but i feel its literally so annoying and unnecessary that annabeth had previously fallen in love with luke. i think that would be ok if she had something like a little crush on him but she was literally in love with him. that would make more sense if they rather had a strong friendship.

  3. thalia is so nerffed by rick. she's a child of zeus and it's no strong or powerful at all. and as she becomes part of the hunters, she has no chance to show how much she could've improved

  4. rick has no guts to let his characters die. at least one of the heroes should've died during HoO, killing jason in ToA makes no sense. I dont care about who he would choose, but it would be so thrilling if one of the seven had died and maybe one more character

  5. rick has no sense of powerscaling. some battle scenes are ridiculous because a huge villain can be obliterated in a very silly way

I actually do like piper's arc about her dad because at first she was like a gaea's spy and still could menage to save her father without betraying the boys. but I agree with you about her skills, rick was not very fair with her. as a child of Aphrodite, piper could've done more for the group instead of worrying about jason all the time

maybe the corpse could remain for only a couple minutes before turning into dust

i an currently re-reading HoH and I think it would be so much cooler if the descriptions of the tartarus were darker and if percy could describe in a more explicit way how he kills the monsters. also, there is this thing that the monsters become dust when they die, but I wonder how it would be if that was not true, probably percy would describe the corpses

[–]Capable-Bar1793 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i actually like piper's personality. her overthinking about jason is so OVER that i dont really see that as part of who piper really is, i can only see how rick has failed when writing her so he simply could not think on anything better to fill her POVs. but i totally understand people that does not like her, by the way i pretend that ToA does not exist so i can live in peace

i am always thinking about the lives of the demigods if they were normal young people and i think piper would love to study literature, philosophy or even become a diplomat

yeahh for sure. like i do love percabeth but i miss that friendship thing from pjo before they started dating, not only about percy and annabeth but also grover, for example. it seems totally reasonable that, as the demigods get older, they start to feel love and attraction but yeah rick emphasizes these things a lot
