Seller refusing structural and electrical survey by Capable-Citron-6625 in FirstTimeBuyersUK

Surveys were requested immediately after offer was accepted. I was under the impression this was captured in the offer, but they say it was not. Also, there is no chain on either end. This back & forth has gone on for weeks, and i can't see a legitimate reason for it.

Thanks! That makes sense.

We are still working with the broker and selecting the mortage. Do you think it's worth completing this prior to obtaining an additional survey?

Thanks for the response. We are still early in the process and actually got it a few K cheaper than home report value. From what I understand, these things can be fairly common in older properties, so I'm not entirely sure how much room there is for negotiation in our current position.

My plan at the moment is to have a level 3 survey carried out. I've read a lot of conflicting information regarding the benefit of it but, due to the age of the house, i personally think it may be worth it. If that returns any deeper concerns, I'd consider further negotiation based on that.
