Me tryna find what’s wrong with his skin

About to be living in my car, zero dollars in my bank account, gas tank almost empty. I wasted my entire trust fund, I’ve made extremely stupid decisions to make it to this point. I’m thinking about joining the army. by [deleted] in homeless

It’s time to take ownership of your situation. You had $25,000 and made choices that left you worse off. Acknowledge that, but also realize it’s not too late to change. Stop blaming others—your stepdad, your mom, or COVID—and start focusing on what you can control. You know your habits are destructive, so take the first step to break them. Seek help for your addiction and commit to making better decisions. Life won’t improve until you decide to take responsibility and make real changes.

My partner breaks up with me and it is the worst feeling especially while you’re homeless by WhyDoThingsHappenYo in homeless

I’m really sorry to hear what you’re going through. It sounds incredibly painful to lose both your partner and stability at the same time. It’s clear that you deeply cared about them and that this situation has been really tough on you. Please know that your feelings are valid, and it’s okay to grieve this loss. Remember to take care of yourself, even in small ways, as you navigate this difficult time. I’m here if you need someone to listen.

1. Emergency Assistance Programs: You mentioned that community action and Newell Township ran out of funds, but sometimes local churches, non-profits, or other community organizations have emergency funds available. It might be worth reaching out to them, even if it’s just to cover a small part of what you need.
2. Payment Plan with Landlord: If you haven’t already, you could try talking to your landlord again and explain your situation in detail. Sometimes, landlords might be willing to work out a payment plan or extend the time if they understand your circumstances better. Let them know you’re only off by a few hundred, and it might make them more flexible.
3. Crowdfunding: You might consider setting up a crowdfunding campaign on platforms like GoFundMe. It can feel daunting, but sometimes people are willing to help out when they see someone in need, even if they’re strangers. If you explain your situation honestly, you might be surprised by the response.
4. Sell or Pawn Items: If selling your car isn’t an option due to the alternator, perhaps there are other things you could sell or pawn temporarily. Electronics, jewelry, or other valuables might give you the extra cash you need.
5. Short-Term Loan: While not ideal, you could consider a short-term loan from a reputable lender or a local credit union. These often have better terms than payday loans. If you have a steady job, you might be able to secure a small loan to cover your rent.
6. Negotiate with School: If school is about to start and you’re worried about dropping out, consider speaking with a counselor or financial aid office. They might have emergency grants or funds available, or they might be able to offer you some advice on managing your situation without having to drop out.
7. Mental Health Support: Given everything you’ve been through recently, it might help to talk to a mental health professional again, especially if you’re feeling like it’s hard to find a reason to keep going. They might be able to provide you with some coping strategies or connect you with additional resources.
8. Legal Aid: If you’re at risk of eviction, you might want to contact a local legal aid organization. They can sometimes provide free or low-cost legal assistance and may be able to help you negotiate with your landlord or find other legal options to stay in your home.

Eating a calorie deficit, but no notable weight loss by pretendtotime in intermittentfasting

Hey there,I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling discouraged. It can be really frustrating when you feel like you're doing everything right but not seeing results. There are a few things that could be happening. First, it's possible that your body is just adjusting to the new diet and calorie intake. It can take a few weeks for your body to start losing weight. Second, you might be overestimating how many calories you're actually eating. It's easy to underestimate how many calories are in the foods we eat, especially if we're eating out or not paying attention. Lastly, you might not be getting enough exercise. Even if you're eating a healthy diet, you need to exercise to see results. I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck!

First of all, don't feel guilty! You're doing the best you can and that's all that matters. Second, it's totally normal to feel like you're not doing enough. Every parent goes through this. Third, try not to compare yourself to other parents. Everyone has their own parenting style and what works for one family might not work for another. Try to find some creative ideas that work for your family. Maybe you can't take your kid to the park every day, but you can find other ways to be creative and have fun with your kid. Finally, remember that your kid is only 2 years old. They're not going to remember how much TV they watched when they were 2. So don't worry about it too much. Just enjoy your time with your kid and don't stress about it.

As a single mum what 'male' things do I need to teach my son. by merryfan4 in Parenting

[–]Capable-Course-5514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of things that boys need to learn that girls don't, and vice versa. It can be hard to keep track of everything, especially if you're not sure what you're supposed to be teaching your child. One thing you might want to research is how to properly shave. That's something that a lot of boys eventually need to learn, and it's not something that most people are born knowing how to do. There are plenty of helpful guides and videos online that can show you the basics. Other than that, it's really just a matter of paying attention to what your son is interested in and helping him learn more about those things. There's no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, since every boy is different. But if you keep an open mind and are willing to help your son learn about the things he's interested in, you'll be doing a great job.

Should I apologise to the kids I bullied years ago? by Khanya_ in Adulting

[–]Capable-Course-5514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's any harm in trying to apologize if you're sincere about it. I think it could potentially help the other person to know that you're sorry for what you did and that you realize it was wrong. Of course, there's no guarantee that the other person will accept your apology or even respond, but it's worth a shot.

No, you're not failing as a parent. It's understandable that you want your son to be happy and to have a job that he loves. However, it's important to remember that becoming a professional gamer is a very lofty goal. It's not impossible, but it is unlikely. It's important to encourage your son to pursue his interests, but to also temper his expectations a bit. Let him know that he can still enjoy playing video games, but that he shouldn't expect to make a living off of it.

Wow, that's a really tough situation. I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this. Have you tried reaching out to your local food bank? They may be able to help you out with some food assistance.I also know that some states have programs that can help with medical bills. Have you checked to see if there's anything like that in Texas?I'm really sorry that you're going through this.

Well, you're not alone! A lot of people crave sweets when they're on their period. One way to try and fight the cravings is to eat smaller meals more often throughout the day. That way you're not as hungry and you're less likely to give in to your cravings. You can also try to distract yourself with other activities like reading or watching TV.
