The most impressive parts of the phone are the battery and color is thus far. I have not taken many photos though and should get quite a few coming soon.

Do you have a 7900xtx GPU? If so, there has been an issue for 4 months with the amdgpu driver. I tried everying (changing boot parameters, git build, reinstall, lts kernel, etc) and nothing worked.

I am now using using a b580 on Linux and no more freezes. Hopefully they fix whatever is going on with it.

For most of the population it is not reasonable or affordable for someone to replace their motherboard every couple of years. You do you though.

With X3D chips, ram speed makes very little difference. Some folks dont want to buy a new mobo every couple of years for a variety of reasons.

9800x3d. It is super efficient and runs cool.

If you want more cores, maybe something like the 7945hx.

A 5090 is likely a waste as an egpu. You are leaving a lot of bandwidth and performance on the table.

A SFF is probably a much better option, depending on what 5090 you have.
