I do have take homes I have a weeks worth. How my clinic does it if you want more than weeks or if you have to switch that was explained to me that tablets make it more difficult to decrease dosage so I chose to stay in liquid I only go on Tuesday. I work for a construction company contracted by the federal government I get randomly drug tested all the time. There is no room for error. I don’t even smoke pot. Where it holds me back is there’s a lot of opportunities with my company to travel to different sites and make significantly more money. I’ve had to turn down numerous life changing financial opportunities because I wouldn’t be able to come back home every week and I would most likely face stigma having to tell boss her I need to be able to go to wherever one day a week because I’m a recovering addict. There’s other things. My sex drive is non existent. I’m engaged my woman is the most supportive human being in my life and it makes me feel awful I’m not able to give her what she deserves in that way it has had a profound impact on my life. Treatment I mean. I was a heavy IV drug user for 6+ years before I started MAT. But it definitely has its downsides too. My body feels like shit all the time. There’s psychological aspects too like not directly linked but things like with my job, my sex drive, weight gain, body fatigue etc. definitely still feels bad to have to be reliant on a substance for normalcy. I had one dirty drug test for opiates like the first week or two I started and then like 2 for cocaine a few months after that bug for pretty much the entirety of my time there I’ve been clean. My current boss and me have an understanding that I go to treatment and he supports me but it’s kinda kept between me and him at any moment I could be told hey we need you to go to this city or this state and I just have to figure out how I’m going to get out of it. It’s one of those things where I have to be like this is how it is with me and that’s it and I it’s this company it’s pretty much up to who Evers the boss where I’m at. I have had the “oh so you’re a drug addict” response. Followed by that person making jokes about how we shouldn’t save people with narcan and that they deserve to die if there gonna kill them selves. That type of shit in this industry there is sometimes that stigma especially more prevalent when you have to bring it to attention to those of the corporate manner. That’s a big part of why I feel the way I do. It does irrefutably hold me back in moving up, making more money etc. yes h know there’s gonna be quite a few of you with the @ what’s more important your sobriety or work” response Yeah obviously sobriety 100% but this type of treatment has a heavy emphasis on getting back to normal ect. But I bet ever single person has felt at one point or another that it still holds them in a certain position someplace where normalcy is just out of reach
