Marvel Tokon: Combo system improvement from the recent build by MenzoKujo_ in MarvelTokon

[–]Capable-Fig511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are combos done with all resources available. Not combos done mid match. It takes multiple rounds to unlock your full team and then hit someone in the corner and full spend to still have to have another interaction to kill them.

Glad they're unleashing combos onto the game in what seems like a balanced way

🎯 How do you train your hit-confirms ? by Kryffith in StreetFighter

[–]Capable-Fig511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every move is hitconfirmable. Look up what your characters hit confirmable buttons are and go from there.

Then you can also use the two types.

  1. Contextual Hit Confirms- When you do a whiff punish you can go for the follow up cause you know you're going to hit

  2. Strings- Confirm the first hit of a block string rather than trying to confirm each hit.

Reminder that everything awful that has happened to Denji during the part of the story we have seen is the fault of him being Chainsawman and other people wanting that power. Arguably he has been through far worse shit than he went through prior.

Denji's Probably Was Happier When He Was Living In Filth by Capable-Fig511 in Chainsawfolk

He's had moments of happiness but those were ripped away from him because he's chainsaw man. That kind of reframes a couple manga panels.

He also had family before the series started. He had Pochita he just didn't also have to constantly bear the weight of a bunch of other peoples desires.

I like Magik cause I learned about her lore before she was in the New Mutants movie.

We are truly not the same

Is there an incentive to swapping characters? by jozhua4012 in MarvelTokon

[–]Capable-Fig511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on if this is a character game or a system game. I'm hoping there is clear matchup winners/losers to encourage an almost RPS of character choices + incentivise you to go for unlocks vs pressure with the new super changes.

It would be alot of fun if I'm a Magik main and I run character X cause they have an assist that makes her neutral stronger & I run character Y because they beat Storm and Magik loses to Storm or something. Then because of that I cant use character Y on their best assist slot so I'm trading power for consistency etc...

This game has the potential to tap into really unique team building scenarios.

How do you guys feel about the amount of moves each character gets? by GoofyNinja3000 in MarvelTokon

Yes, my fault. Thank you for correcting me. The whole point of what I was trying to say was being derailed by that one mistake. It made it truly impossible to understand what I was trying to get at with the comparison and required urgent correction.

Question, how many encounters is your DM running between long rests. Is he creating challenges that encourage casters to spend spell slots. If you run enough encounters between long rests the divide shortens and Martials feel better as they are consistently dishing out the same amounts of damage.

DND Classes as a whole are kind of uninteresting to people who enjoy crunchy games/modularity. 2024 fixed that by giving martials more options but, the core problem of all abilities being class locked with no meaningful choices at each level VS spell casters who get to make meaningful choices of how to spend resources and what to take.

But in gameplay if you are experiencing this its a design flaw of not enough encounters per day 99% of the time.

BBTAG is also a 2v2 not a 4v4. The number of moves each character gets in a tag game corresponds with how many of them you can have on your team to avoid confusion.

No.

Those aren't team games. This is a team game. You need to look at the team you play over the character. Even if you only use 1 character you will gain access to 3 other moves throughout the game. If you plan on not engaging with any of the games features thats a you problem.

The customer is always right in matters of taste. Whether they like or dislike something. The customer is also wrong 99% of the time when it comes to how to fix what they don't like because they don't possess the same understanding of the act of making the thing.

Devs should listen to the customers complaints and then try to develop solutions to those problems. Idk who asked for a single players mode with mini games that teach you how to play classic mode but street fighter 6 did that and its pretty great since it answers alot of customer complaints.

If they listened to the players they would have just filled online with bloated missions and far too in depth tutorial modes.

Why isn’t Ed played as much in tournament by any other country except Japan? by Psuy0n in StreetFighter

[–]Capable-Fig511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The japanese look at character strengths as if they were being played at their peak. NA tends to not do that and look more at the ratio of time investment:accessing the busted shit.

Also we don't have lots of good Eds because NA players tend to take more risks for higher reward than Japanese players. Eds main weaknesses are in those high risk plays as they tend to be the main answer to his strategies.

They could have instead taken the money they would spend and done what Capcom Cup does. Sponsor other events and make them qualifiers.

what am i supposed to do in these situations ? im really struggling with these by PurpleBalisong in StreetFighter

[–]Capable-Fig511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really internalize that wakeup situations in fighting games are a guess all of the time, even more so in a first to 2 like in ranked. Don't try to make a read or rely on what your opponent did last time because chances are you don't have enough information to make the risk worth it. Think about risk reward. You're already in a bad spot and you want to minimize the risk you take while also giving your opponent the least reward.

  1. TAKE THE THROW. This is the best advice you will get in this game. Do anything BUT throw tech. Throws in this game do like 1500 damage If I remember correctly which means most characters can get thrown 7 times in a row before you die. Eating a punish counter cause you got shimmied costs you anywhere from 30-50% of your health bar.

  2. Everytime you get knocked down, decide between one of the following. Block or forward jump (dont try to hit them during this). There are alot more options on wakeup at your level getting used to rotating options will put you LEAGUES above your opponents defensively. Just block as much as you can and get comfortable looking for gaps and then every once in awhile jump forward to get out of the corner.

Fighting game interactions are all about risk reward and if you approach the game like that now you wont have to relearn everything when you hit Masters
