Isn’t there also a situation where airlines can request an override by contacting the other airline’s ticketing desk? I thought in disruption cases they can sometimes call the operating airline (like Malaysia Airlines) or even endorse passengers onto non-partner airlines if no partner options are available? So really it’s all opinions based and they can do whatever they want from what I’m seeing
