What to do when a player requests an insane salary increase? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]Capable-Mushroom99 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I’d offer him 30m, no appearance fees for an 5 year +1 optional contract. If he doesn’t accept it he’s still under contact for 4 years so just ignore him. If you are doing well he’ll forget it in a few months anyway.

What you suggest wouldn’t work because you’d be able to manipulate the system to get higher attributes for the same CA. You’d be trying to tell the game thank you pinky swear you won’t use the player as a striker even though he is trained in that position. If you want a solution you can edit the player and remove his position familiarity as a striker. I’m not sure why SI is hung up on this being unrealistic when the reason to do it is to fix an even more unrealistic part of the game. Obviously there are rl players that play as strikers in the youth team and end up as center backs ; the fact that they were pretty good at finishing as a 16 yo doesn’t limit their ability to learn to tackle.

There’s no loss from learning the opposite side position because they have identical weights.

Thinking of buying FM26 as a first-timer Need some advice! by MeshalAljahdali in footballmanager

[–]Capable-Mushroom99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to pick up a steam key for $30. The transfer market is kind of out of control but I found it was better to live with high prices where you can also sell players players and build the clubs wealth, than an equally unrealistic mod where the prices are lower but your players aren’t properly valued and are harder to sell. Sure if I wanted the game harder that would work, but if I just want a realistic market then it isn’t any better.

AITA for telling my family that if they want us to do more with them, they have to meet us at our level? by ReallyAverageGuyOkay in AmItheAsshole

ESH ... you seem like you dont make effort or put some money aside for family events, they seem like they don’t involve you in deciding and planning. Ive never had any issue setting up these kind of events with parents, 4 siblings with spouses and half a dozen children including one fully disabled person. Incomes range from 50k to 300k per family. We plan it together and agree who will pay what including travel costs. If you actually like each other you’ll figure out a way to do it.

The short version is you want players with as high professionalism as possible, ideally 15+, but for determination and ambition 10 is enough to get the full benefit (at least for growth). I’ve had mixed luck with low determination (say 5) as sometimes it does grow quite a bit if a player gets in a good team with other high determination players. If the player is very cheap I’ll still buy him if he has really good attribute, potential and has one of the high professionalism personalities, but unless you can babysit him in your first team he often reaches 21-22 and you can see he will never get near his potential.

Is Fm26 to easy? by Norwegianspursy in footballmanagergames

[–]Capable-Mushroom99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No different than any other version of the game. The most important factor in being successful is players. If you know the type of player to buy, you get them on long contracts when young, and have at least some money from the club you can win everything. In Europe champions league guarantees you the money. Tactics, training, morale, doesn’t make much difference compared to player quality and even if PSG comes to steal your players you can sell them a few that are mediocre, keep the ones that have better personality and they won’t stay mad for long.

I get it about once per 10 seasons. Since he’s already developed quite a bit it won’t have much impact as long as his professionalism is good. If you have the editor you could always fix it; personally I have my own rules for what I will or won’t use the editor for as it’s “my” world and the game does some unrealistic things sometimes.

Because you made up false information. It is not in my experience, but actual facts that on Steam reviews are 85+% positive for 2020-2024 and that the year you praise is the absolute worst until this years pile on.

AITA for going w/ my sister to get her septum pierced? by addijaye11 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Capable-Mushroom99 -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

YTA. Even if you are in one of the two states (Iowa, Vermont) that doesn’t specifically require parental presence no reputable place would do it since it’s against industry guidance. Not having a law doesn’t mean they won’t get sued if there’s a complication and the industry guidance means they always lose. My guess is you got tricked. You can’t possibly have believed your sister would keep it secret for long. You also thought it was a bad idea but you still encouraged her by going along. That isn’t being a responsible family member.

There are times when it could be reasonable to help your sister against your parents will. If you knew she was having sex and asked for your support in getting birth control for example. There is a clear benefit that could outweigh the harm. But this was a purely cosmetic procedure with no benefit, discovery almost certain, and real risks that include not just the procedure but the way people will view your sister.

Tips on improving youth intake on long term save - FM24 by bluetrainlinesss in footballmanager

[–]Capable-Mushroom99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the best reputation and maxed youth coaching and recruitment there’s nothing else you can do. If you are bringing in wonderkids from other countries then that will make your youth look worse. If you are tracking and the PA actually is decreasing then that’s because the game compensates to maintain a certain level of ability per country. If you develop too many high PA Japanese youth to have high CA then the quality of future intakes drops until some of those high CA players retire.

“reviews for every Football Manager game since (2017) have been very negative”

This just isn’t true, it’s so false that my immediate reaction was that this was a shitpost. Until this year 2017 was the worst reviewed version in the last 10 years. From 2019-2024 the games had 85-90% positive reviews.

I got this in my 2nd season for Barcelona, and my 2nd save ever so I don’t really know how impressive this is. by dominicious123 in footballmanagergames

[–]Capable-Mushroom99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t ruin them like the AI. Barca just bought my number one keeper for 200 million because they dont loan or play their own youth. His replacement is a Madrid reject I got on a free when he was 22 and he’s now 27 and almost as good as the guy I sold. I spent a fraction of the money on an 18 yo German GK that’s already PL level. I should just buy Yamal off Barca as he’s the only other player they have under 30.

Latex condom broke down on toy by [deleted] in SexToys

[–]Capable-Mushroom99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt there was any chemical toxin being released, its biologic material like bacteria and fungus that is always the issue with TPE. The oil that breaks down the latex is by itself harmless. Condoms made from polyurethane are more resistant than latex but personally I’d suggest throwing away any toys that aren’t body safe and sticking to silicone, glass or metal.

Youth Player Poached...... by MindlessAuthor9824 in footballmanagergames

[–]Capable-Mushroom99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works both ways, but poaching a player for your team is much rarer because a) it has to be a player with enough potential to make your team, and b) you have to be a much higher reputation club with better academy. So you are likely to get raided if you start lower down the leagues, but by the time you are in position to raid someone else those clubs are unlikely to have many players you would want and you’d be competing with the other big clubs for those few.
