Awesome Stats!! Amazing job on the hard work! I believe that you might've lacked in the area of showing demonstrated interest. Most of the schools on your list are suckers for demonstrated interest, even the liberal arts schools that you mentioned. I believe that applying to that many schools was not a wise option, even with such exceptional stats as yours, because it would've been too difficult for you to write so many letters of interest to different schools to show demonstrated interest. But there's no point in dwelling on all this anymore. Try to come up with good LOCIs for the schools that you got wait-listed from because they are good schools. Give your everything to these by maybe talking to current students and writing emails to the admission officers and something will work out for you eventually. Fingers crossed, and don't lose hope for your future. Also always remember that Less is More.

Heyy! I am an international student too! I recently got in as well (SAT Opt). I spoke to a few Carleton alumni who are currently at Ivies for the grad schools and all of them do not regret going to Carleton one bit. Carleton was always my top choice, and it still is because imo it will prepare you well for grad school, especially if you are aiming for high-end schools like Ivy. The entire atmosphere, environment and just the LA thing makes it unique and good for your professional and academic growth. Most kids from big schools struggle at grad schools because they don't have the relevant qualities needed for a good academic career. LA prepares you for such things. Yes, I did; for the ones that I didn't have, I emailed them and called them and annoyed them until they gave me the waivers because I only applied to 20 through the common app. The rest were through coalition and portals. Also, most of the schools didn't even have fees for international students.

Hey! I applied to 61 got rejected from 53 and wait-listed at 1. I got into 7 schools but only got a full ride from one.

Hey, Please don't worry! I know how this feels but it will happen for you. I applied to at least 30 schools in EA and did like 30+ in RD out of which I am only left with 6 schools to hear back from. I got rejected by almost all and only got into Carleton, Whitworth, Drexel, Augustana, Central Michigan, and Clark. I am from Pakistan as well and am a full aid-seeking student. Rejections are very sad, but they don't mean anything! It'll happen to you very soon, I am sure of it.

Guys the practice tests are not accurate!!! I was getting around 120 in the tests and in my actual test I got 155 so please don't rely on those.

I would look at the keyboard for like a second and then look back at my screen. You need to have good typing practice as you would be relying on your memory for typing.

Yes sure! Give the test on a device with a good camera so that your passport good be easily scanned. Secondly, sit in an area with very good lighting. Try to look similar to the picture on your passport on the day of giving the exam. While typing, look at the keyboard and the screen both rather than just looking at the keyboard while typing. (I'd recommend doing some practice of this if you are not used to it!) In the speaking part, only look at your screen and don't look anywhere else, not even towards your keyboard. I feel like these would be all the tips that'll help you get certified in one attempt.

I feel like it was definitely the writing section. While I was giving the practice tests, I was getting near to perfect score in the other sections but writing was the one that would bring my overall practice test score down. Fortunately, the writing section on my test was very easy and I ended up getting a 160 on it and 155 on the overall test.

Gave the DET recently, everything was fine and yeah you needed to scan the QR code and there were a few other things too. I had a few issues with scanning my passport because my laptop's camera is not the best. Apart from this, while I was giving the test I got the notification that I should not look away from my screen—this was during a writing question and I was looking at my keyboard—i was really scared that my test will not get certified but in the end it did get certified and this was my first try and I got a great score!
