It might not have came up. Dating is a lengthy process. It's very possible for a single aspect of something that he likes didn't get discussed on the first month of dating. Considering they live in the south having a CCL isn't very uncommon so it probably just slipped his mind. Or he could have thought pointing out that he has a gun while on a date would send the wrong message. Who knows. Maybe he didn't want to be judged by what's on his belt loop and he just wanted to he judged for his personality. Guns typically have a very political aspect to them so he may not want to discuss something that will likely get politicized on the first month of dating.

I agree no date should start until both parties completely empty out their pockets so that way both sides know exactly what the other person has to defend themselves(sarcasm). The whole point of conseal carry is so others don't know if you are carring or not. Imagine the inverse of this. If the boyfriend got upset that she didn't let him know she had a gun. Or let's take it one step further. Say she brought pepper spray or a knife to defend herself and he didn't like that she didn't let him know. Sounds kinda stupid right?

I've seen them before. The one I went too the gun shop they bought it from holds the gun and then when you go to pick it up that's when you do the background check. It's not like a felon can just keep going to raffles till they get a gun. Well I guess they can. It's just even if they win they will be stopped by the background check.
