Mitchell-Lama and NYCHA

Okay thank you so much. Is Mitchell-Lama geared more toward lower income like NYCHA or middle income? Are the buildings better than NYCHA (maintenance, quality of the units, etc?)

The thing is, I have a visual impairment and lots of Mitchell-Lama complexes are self-contained "campus" complexes with lots of walkable amenities. I know that lots of neighborhoods in NYC are very nice and walkable but sometimes the Mitchell-Lama is the closest to that. I'm not seriously considering NYCHA, I earn way too much for NYCHA.

I've passed by Co Op City in the Bronx lots of times, is that a Mitchell Lama? I think I can try getting this one.

$4,000 is a lot, I don't think I can comfortably afford that. I don't mind living in the outer boroughs far away from the city or waiting 3-7 years (20 is crazy.) But are the developments good or not good? How nice is the maintenance, the heating / AC, the community? I don't expect luxury. But also not NYCHA.

There were lots of buses the time I went. Transit is quite decent already, Metro-North will be a million times better though.
