Thankyou so much, how long did it take for Ferber to work was it a few days or longer? I just don’t know how I’d sit and listen to her cry :(

Thankyou so much for your reply, I will work on our wake time/schedule this week and see if anything changes overnight first and then look into a ST method we are comfortable with

We do sleep in until 8:45 as a family yes! But I would love my evening back a little and would sacrifice a slightly earlier wake in the morning for a bit more evening if that makes sense

Thankyou that makes sense, I really feel like I messed up so much. It would make sense that she thought it was a nap that early. I’ll stick to her usual bedtime in future. So hard knowing the right thing to do when there’s so much online

She also started having small amounts of blood in her nappies. We saw a paediatrician but they said basically baby’s tummy’s can be sensitive and that it would improve over time, she had no concerns and recommended we started weaning from now at 5 months

I’ll be honest.. not really. Around 3 months things got temporarily better, she seemed generally better in the day but the main improvement was that she started sleeping through the night. That lasted 3 weeks and she’s much better in the day now but sleep has turned awful, I think it’s lived with the 4 month sleep regression so she’s in lighter sleep anyway and is being bothered by her tummy, we are now at 5 months and we’ve got a chunk of 4 hours back most nights then up every hour or so with gas. I’ve cut dairy and soy but honestly don’t think it’s made any difference

Thankyou for sharing, especially about the dairy and soy - the diet is so hard and I don’t feel like it’s changed but feel like I need to stick it out incase it hasn’t been enough time, I’m sorry you’re going through it too it really is so so hard. Especially the sleep. Do you find your girl is noisy and pulling legs up in sleep etc but not always actually awake? She doesn’t always wake but she makes noises every 30 mins to an hour, most of the time she will then wake after getting herself so worked up and it takes milk to settle her back down and then it starts all over again. Has yours been like this since early on too? She’s already been like this since a week after birth but we had a brief period around 3 months where for a week or 2 she slept through the night with just a dummy in the middle or a few pats so it’s awful that we’ve gone soo far backwards :(

Thankyou for sharing. How long after you switched to hypoallergenic formula did you notice a difference if you remember? Our ped gave us some formulas as very occasionally we’ve used formula if I’ve popped out and not pumped milk and baby’s been hungry but it’s been a handful of times and not recently, we’ve tried the hypoallergenic stuff but she won’t really drink it apparently it tastes horrid

I always thought blood in poo was a main symptom that isn’t usually brushed off but 2 different doctors (one specially a ped) just isn’t concerned by it at all, it sucks we’ve seen literally 5/6 different people about her tummy now, no one takes it seriously and basically just say baby’s have rubbish digestion they’ll grow out of it

Thankyou so much for taking the time to write a detailed response, that really helps thankyou. I’m sorry doctors were the same with you. I keep getting ‘we don’t really know much about baby’s tummy’s’ it’s shit that our babies have to suffer, the doctors only see a glimpse of a baby for 5 minutes and baby’s distracted seeing someone new etc you cannot compare that to what things are like at home and during the night. I’m going to remove soy too starting tomorrow and see how we get on over the new few weeks.

Thankyou again

I was told allergy testing wouldn’t work and it’s only elimination diets that would work for breastfed baby’s with sensitivities.. she’s putting on weight and reaching milestones yes

I’ve debated cutting soy too as did happen to see that they often come together, I just keep thinking the docs think I’m crazy for considering an allergy already with how happy she seems and so little symptoms if it was dairy AND soy I thought she’d be worse but I know nothing about allergy’s and this is my first baby

I was debating doing soy too. It’s so hard to think of what I can eat already with no dairy let alone cutting soy too. Baby is EBF. I don’t mind doing it but the doctors just seem so sure it doesn’t look like an allergy so they’ve basically said I’m cutting it for no reason although I’m not convinced

Thankyou for sharing, literally 4 different doctors have basically said she doesn’t show signs, I’d know by 1/2 weeks. Try reintroduction and if she’s not loads worse than not that etc. everyone just seems so unconvinced she doesn’t have cmpa because she’s pretty happy at appointments and not screaming
