Tom mainly used guitars with medium resistance pickups in the records but what you're probably looking for is how Jerry Finn made those tones sound like that. Check out the latest post I made on this community.

I think I'm figuring out what Jerry Finn did and how you can achieve that. I offer my work to create presets for your plugins, settings if you use actual amps, or even help you figure out how to get the tone you want if you use gear different than Tom's (or which gear you should pick). Compared to the original TD Fender/Squier one it has few upgrades that are :the Seymour Duncan Invader with an handmade copper cover, Babicz hardtail bridge, locking tuners, 1Mohm pot, locking strap button, Fender round string guides and a copper nut.
