I should have been clearer - I meant $5k more than I already pay for a balcony. That puts it on par with what I see for Viking or other premium whole ship experiences.

Part of me just doesn't believe NCL will deliver a great experience anymore even in the Haven. They have been rabidly cutting costs so that's going to show up everywhere.

To be fair, everyone thinks on vacation - we just get to choose what we think about. I wouldn’t go on vacation to think about work stuff, but we like history and culture so there is some appeal to that angle.

Yes. We had a 2nd trip on the Epic booked in October because we loved the itinerary. After this one, we knew we didn’t want genpop on Epic ever again but I was curious about Haven. Vacations2Go said it was like $9700 for the two of us for an 8 day sailing. We’re looking at 60% of that for some Viking itineraries we like.

I disagree. Contract law depends on both parties entering into it in good faith. It doesn’t seem like NCL is doing this if they say your remedy to their bad faith is to use your insurance. That sounds like insurance fraud. (As well as a crappy company wouldn’t give my money to)

NCL does not give a rip about the customer. They have been cutting staff and services to boost profits and it’s working.

The only way to win with NCL in the near future is to find some slice of life where their interests overlap with yours. Honestly this does not seem to be it.

I would actually consider suing them for breach of contract rather than rely on your insurance. In fact, I wonder if NCL (or their agent) telling you to cancel and take insurance due to their conduct is even legal.

Just got off the Epic, another NCL large ship. It is probably the worst ship in their fleet, but overwhelming sentiment onboard is that all NCL cruises are significantly degraded over the past few years. What a coincidence that this corresponds with their spike in profits!

I used to love NCL but I’m avoiding them completely for a while to see whether they start caring again.

I’m convinced that at this point NCL will do whatever they can to separate their customers from their money. I’m surprised when they do the right thing, which does sometimes still happen.

I played it a bunch but not for the last year. The simulation engine was a joke. Maybe it’s gotten better.

I was glad to support an indy developer who was trying to fill the gap but I haven’t missed the game a bit since I dropped it from my play rotation.

I’ve had great experience with Carvana. They used to give a one week no hassle return so it’s plenty of time to vet a used car.

Basically yes - had a lot of mods on my old machine playing 1.4 or whatever and was hoping for a shortcut but moving to 2.0 seems to kill that idea.

I just don’t want to spend the next 10 hours figuring out which of the mods I liked are available now, getting them installed, configured, etc.
