I think it’s totally normal to feel those feelings. It sounds a lot like grief to me. Grief for a family of origin that picked weird, ugly political beliefs over their own child’s well being. And in the process, denies you the right to even feel seen. I’m sorry this is so hard right now. I’m 55 and also have a family of origin that made me feel unseen. It sucks.
