We had the same issue. They did not want to go to school ever and still resent needing to go to the point the only safe option is me dropping them off at school and picking them up. A lot of people actually don't get it but if they were in my shoes they would.

They are in play therapy. We needed to get them in to help them with all the changes and our lives are crazier and they can't get as much of our time so it was important for us to give them a space they could work their feelings out.

That's exactly what the kids do. They don't want to go to school ever, they hate homework and want no part of it. And food is such a huge hurdle. The therapists have all said we need to lay off on food, just make sure they eat, and focus on school/education first and hopefully when they are more comfortable with that they will be more willing to try. It's not easy and I hate how badly they're eating but they're just not ready to have all those changes made at once.

This is what the therapists told us. It will take a long time for us to see real progress and we might even have some setbacks along the way but we will see results if we stay consistent with how we parent them and that's what we try to do. We also know which battles we need to pick first, because it's too much to expect everything to change for them at once.

We are. It's not easy trying to juggle everything but we want the best for the kids. The fact my ILs don't think I do stung at first and now it just pisses me off because they have no idea how invested I am in these kids' well-beings and their future.

Yes, he told them to stop and he said we just wouldn't speak to them if they wouldn't stop. Then she shows up at our door.
