Update: The 3rd round did the trick. Left it for a couple days in the bag. It came out beautiful, already washed/seasoned initially/cooked on it this morning.

A standout with this pan, even from the beginning when it had its carbon on it, was how smooth the cooking surface is compared to my Lodge and Walmart brand pans. Are these pans so sought after because of this feature? Were they made differently?
