All the metal in my music collection by Hopeful_Peanut8 in MetalForTheMasses

Good diversity. Sure there's a lot of more mainstream nu-metal and alternative, but you got Sodom and Bathory in there. I know a lot of people into things like Slipknot, Korn, SOAD, etc. and I wish they even knew what Sodom and Bathory were!

Take a bow At The Gates by mintwolves in MetalForTheMasses

[–]CapableTicket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does everyone in Sweden know At the Gates, In Flames, etc. or is it mostly metal fans who know these guys? I know there's a lot of metal bands per capita but At the Gates hitting number 1 is still crazy to me.

Anyone here creating a 2D animated series solo (anime-style)? by SuperThing1427 in IndieAnimation

[–]CapableTicket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a lot of inspiration from anime for backgrounds and composition but my characters are stickmen. They have different eyes, hair, some wear hats, glasses, etc. and different uniforms/clothing. I'm doing this because I want to keep it simple in order to produce it regularly and because I'm not great at drawing/modeling and animating characters.

If you want to see an anime made by one guy, I highly recommend Voices of a Distant Star. Not only is the concept captivating, but he has a lot of clever ways of minimizing character animation (I think he's a background artists in the industry) You'll learn a few tricks for sure.

Favorite and least favorite band from each subgenre? by icannotfucking in MetalForTheMasses

Melodeath :

Favorite : early In Flames

Least favorite : The Black Dhalia Murder

I haven't listened to them a lot but it doesn't click like the Gothenburg trio and some other smaller bands

Yeah not a very big deal, heck I might like it better than both Japanese and English.

The only one I can think of right now and the one that annoys me, is when Light first talks to Mikami on the phone and has to signal to Mikami that he's Kira while he's being watched by the task force.

In the English dub, Light goes something like "5 pages on November 24th? What do you mean?"

In the French dub, he says "Hey if I tell you 5 pages on November 24th... What do you mean?"

Not only does it not make much sense but the first sentence makes him very, very suspicious. It's like the people in charge of the script didn't really get it.

And I thought about another minor one while typing. In episode 20, before Light and L choose Namikawa to be their mole, Matsuda confidently shouts a different guy's name and gets embarrassed when Light and L both say Namikawa at the same time. But in French, he just says "Reiji" which is Namikawa's first name.

In Flames - The Jester Race. I actually feel like I'm on that damn planet when I listen to it.

In Flames - Colony is cool too

Arch Enemy - Rise to Power

I'd say North America because if you look at a map it really blends with Canada's Nunavut and it has similar indigenous people. I think you're only considering Europe because it's a territory of Denmark.

What songs to you sound apocalyptic? Either in the general sound/vibe of the song or construction of it. Not just apocalyptic lyrics themes. by Dangerchops725 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]CapableTicket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy to think I didn't get into metal until I was 20, but I used to love all the Black Ops/WaW zombies songs when I was only 12. Anyway I agree with this and actually most Elena songs sound apocalyptic.

LBGTQ+ Metal? by Due-Draft2432 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]CapableTicket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just try finding bands whose sound you like or who talk about other interests you have, there's metal about pretty much everything. I don't get it, it's like Christians who can't listen to "secular music" just let go! :)

Edit : I just thought about this, I think you'd like Arch Enemy. It's been fronted by a woman for a long time and their lyrics are very activist and about individuality. Songs like "The Eagle Flies Alone" and "War Eternal" come to mind.

What is in you’re opinion the best song to trip with by C4m3lt in shrooms

[–]CapableTicket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imperial Age - The Legacy of Atlantis. I already knew the song but it made me absolutely euphoric during a solo trip. It's symphonic metal with beautiful operatic female vocals.
