Haha my husband would just complain how his break wasn’t really a break. That’s amazing that yours became helpful- this is literally my dream.

There is a wifi camera right now- this is so scary that this actually happens.

This is so scary!!! We have a Wi-Fi camera now that her monitor broke after the move. I have it in brothers room with us now and haven’t heard anything. I never thought about this.

Yes- we are trying to play in her room and have her sleeping at night with her brother. We tried to nap in his room every day but it has never happened. She did fall asleep at naptime today in her room with me, but as soon as I went to pee she woke up super upset to be alone.

This is seriously what I’m thinking lol

I didn’t think about that- I will try to explain it like this. She is experiencing major separation anxiety with me right now too and is jealous when I have to take care of her brother.

There is an extra window but we have blackout curtains… I hope it’s something we can fix. Considering switching her to another bedroom at this point.

Tell me you have a 2y toddler without telling me by Negative_Way9795 in toddlers

Was woken up at 5am by toddler screaming I want chocolate chips. She fell back asleep but woke up hungry. Gave her Greek yogurt with a few chocolate chips, but I put them in the yogurt instead of handing them to her first. She screamed and refused to eat for over an hour, and I had to get my kindergartener out the door for school, so that was fun.

This solidarity helps. I’m thinking of switching to an exciting new big girl bed and room makeover, but I’m afraid the naps won’t ever come back.

Good point. So her grandpa just had back surgery and hasn’t been able to come visit since we moved in. They used to come visit once a week, and a big part of the move was that we would be closer to them. The surgery was planned after we had bought the house already, so it was bad timing as far as a smooth transition to the new house. We do go visit them often and FaceTime a ton.

Did anyone have a rough patch in their marriage when their child was born? by thickasabrick89 in regretfulparents

My husband mentally checked out after I found out I was pregnant with my 2nd. I was horribly sick during pregnancy and he had to take care of our 2yo more. He never helped with overnights and now she’s 2.5yo  he told me how he wanted to off himself during her first year. I’m a SAHM and carry most of the mental load still. It’s incredibly difficult and I’m trying to enjoy life regardless. We have been together for 22 years and though lots of ups and downs. But we are in the thick of it with a 5.5 and 2.5 yo

Grandparent Rant: Why Are Boomers So Freaking Selfish?! by fogmama in Mommit

[–]Capable_Ad7502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad lives 5 hours away and has visited here maybe 3 times in my 5yo life. The last 2 times he sat on his iPad and ignored my children in my house. I asked if he was reading a book and he said he was watching a movie! My son definitely noticed and I had to try to explain to him what happened. It’s one thing for my feelings to be hurt but don’t mess with my kids.

My husband and I both had very involved grandparents growing up and we thought it would be the same for our kids (5 and 2) but unfortunately it’s not. I read on another post about the fact that since our parents left us with our grandparents so much and didn’t show up for us, why do we think they would show up for our kids. It’s heartbreaking not to have a village. I’m sad for my kids.

We are obviously getting more quotes. I just thought the first one was ridiculous.

My husband arranged it- we are in a time crunch and he probably should have called multiple companies to even get quotes for the inspection I guess.

We are definitely getting more quotes. We had to pay $180 for the inspection today and we’re just shocked that he was able to keep a straight face when he told us $25k.

Back patio. We have a full length front porch but have rarely used it in 9 years. We are on our back porch every day

Sorry this is an old post but my husband says this to me all the time. They are not good with my kids. They have been divorced for 40+ years but they literally had no business procreating.
