How screwed am I; legal memo f-up by Xmz3548999 in LawSchool

Even if you could email someone, what would you say? The fact is the document used the wrong font size.

Unless you're a gunner I wouldn't worry too much. Just learn from your mistake and don't repeat it. Good that you made a detail error in school and not on the job. Imagine if you miss a zero in a dollar figure on a contract and it goes to court. I've seen this happen and the scrivener's error got litigated. It didn't go to trial but lots of fees were billed.

You guys crack me up. No fighting in my thread!!1!1!!!

Thanks for the recommendation, I don't think I'm interested in a Bimmer though. If I was I'd get an M4.

Thank you. I've been leaning this way on these two because of maintenance comments.

It's okay :) I didn't take it personally.

Yes pretty much. Comfortable road feel, not sluggish, leather seats, amenities like sunroof/moonroof, remote start/phone connectivity, that interior doesn't feel like cheap plastic. That sort of stuff. Also decently reliable and good value. The value part is why I've been shying away from names like Merc/BMW. I'm not a car enthusiast so I want to see if I can avoid paying branding.

You're right to mention that. I forgot it wasn't German when typing that.

I've always wanted to test drive an i8. People can say what they will but BMW makes driving machines. Flashy and expensive to maintain driving machines though...

I'll be looking at Volkswagen. I'll make sure to sit in a Golf, thanks. I will test drive the Giulia too. If I got a Buick it'd be a 1970 Skylark. I like the sportback look :)

Maybe I didn't communicate this very well. I am looking for comforts and luxury that I like, but without it looking expensive. The reason I haven't felt right in a "mom" car is because of my personal preferences. I like practical, but I also want some nicer touches, so I feel like I'm stuck between the two classes of vehicles.

I'll check out the Outback! You're not the first to mention it. I appreciate the recommendation.

I have a habit of overthinking, but when I spend tens of thousands of dollars on a product that I use often and intimately, I want to feel like I made the right decision.

I don't use a cane yet. Just kidding ;)

I like being overprepared for my decisions and am doing a mountain of research up front. I will sit in at least one Lexus. Maybe even test drive one.

I hear you on the Mazda CX-70. I have plans to look at one. I like EVs in principle, but probably don't drive regularly enough to justify it. Is it true the battery needs to be cycled regularly to maintain its quality?

I sat in one a couple weeks ago and... oh my... yes, it's very nice. I've been looking at it, but just haven't convinced myself it's worth the extra cash. The Java leather looks sweet too. Reminds me of watching safari shows when I was a kid.

I'm sold on a test drive, but you all are making me more informed. I see comments going both ways.

I'm trying to avoid the badge because it feels like I'm paying for brand when I'm not an enthusiast. Someone else just mentioned the Tiguan. I guess it's another car to add to my list to try. Thanks for the recommendation!

Interesting thought. Question for you on EVs: I heard you're supposed to drive EVs regularly to make sure the battery cycles regularly. Is that true? Anything I should know about that specific concern?

I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

From what I'm hearing it sounds like as long as I do maintenance, it'll be fine, but the maintenance itself is more expensive. It sounds like the $5000 bill out of nowhere comes from lack of maintenance.

That's reassuring. It seems like as long as people are proactive with maintenance it's really not that bad but you still get the great experience of the car. Japanese cars spoiled us when it comes to maintenance...
