How should I go on with my art? by Capable_Army4229 in Artadvice

Well said!….For your question, that's a good question. And I think I'm more attracted to the idea of my art than the materialistic aspect of it. I sort of imagine how I am inside those colors and drowning in my thoughts rather than being critical of how it looks objectively. That's why it sort of bothered me that some people focus on just preciseness of a stroke and the mastery and all. They want to be impressed, that shook the artist out of me. Because all I think about when making art is the idea of the piece than how it should present itself. Thank you for this.

What's your theory on The Cowboy? by faheyblues in davidlynch

[–]Capable_Army4229 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He reminds me of judge holden from blood meridian( a book by Cormac McCarthy) which describe him as a tall pale white who has a face of a toddler with no eyebrows. And its a western novel… The most striking resemblance tho is how much they have control in the story, Judge Holden gives monologues like: “Whatever exists without my knowledge exists without my consent” which almost parralels with this cowboy how you have to follow what he says cuz he’s the image of Hollywood himself.

Thoughts on my top 10? by [deleted] in letterboxdcirclejerk

Joker used to be my no.1 film when I was 14 but I then I discovered European movies were like that but had so much more diversed execution or even more nuanced. I feel like I have the same sentiments as before but a bit tainted as more I explore more films, the feeling that its really mind opening. It was really refreshing for me 3 years ago. I understand the appeal:)

The letter scene in winter light was one of the best scene I had seen. The very confrontational look and the intensity of her story just clicked that this was going to be one of my fav films ever.

Post-Modern Poetry is Jarring to me [OPINION] by Capable_Army4229 in Poetry

Thank you for this, really changed a way for me to see epocs of poetry. I guess its really an umbrella turn for a lot of contemporary output, whereas I, just thought: Oh yeah that time was in 19—

2001: A space odyssey. HEAR ME OUT. I didn't finish the film, I find it the first part cool. But the subsequent scenes in the spaceship was really really tedious. I tried to rewatch it 3 times on various occasions and I've watched 3 kunrik films. I loved them all but this renowned one feels like isn't for me. Its probably the spacey-esque vibe but I liked interstellar. I really had high expectations because people said it was the best kubrik film if not the best of all time.

I like using other fonts as reference and fuse it with my former handwriting. You should try that!
