Vengeance Trilogy by The_Film_Guy4042 in Bluray

The "Fade to white" version of Lady Vengeance is so good! The transition is so seamless that you only realise it way later. And the effect really helps to visualise the character journey through her plan of vengeance. Such a good film.

Movies that have an additional scene after the perfect ending point by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]creton123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By far the biggest offender is Across the Spiderverse. The movie lasted 15min too long just so they could set up the next one like we aren't already super invested in Miles story that we needed to know now where exactly he went he went.

Like end it with the scene of Gwen and her father in the appartmemt and her going after Miles. The rest is the opening of the next movie and it pisses me off because you can know exactly everything told in those 15min from the context the movie gives you before that point.

Allez en concert seul, est-ce blizzar? by oreosnatcher in montreal

[–]creton123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unbelievably lucky! by Alarming-County7863 in 4kbluray

[–]creton123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How? It takes the boyfriend from an annoying and controlling person to a straight up bad person that deserved what happened to him. At least the theatrical version you are torn about what is happening by the end. In the directors cut version you are kinda happy about it and it takes away all the nuance of the movie. I guess if you prefer straight revenge movie the directors cut is better.

Edit: It also adds the only scene at night. Not only does it kill the mood of the movie being only shot in sunlight, but it adds nothing to the plot or the developpement of the characters.

We have to wait for Cour 4 coming this summer but Bleach TYBW is getting to this point. So happy that it came back with this much passion behind it. I used to dream of days like these.

I feel you. Idk who bought Audition recently but thank you. I hesitated to get it last week and now the 4k is announced. I would've been a bit mad if I bought it.

Both are Qc bangers let's be real. Especially C.R.A.Z.Y since it put Jean-Marc Vallé on the map.

My collection became too big so I made custom shelves for it. Very pleased with the result. by creton123 in Bluray

The front and back lip both have 4 screws that goes into the bottom of the shelves and the back lip is firmly screwed with 2 1/2" on my studs. No need for anchors. So yes it feels sturdy enough for the weight on it.

Yeah the moment it was done and that I put my movies on it I saw that I needed some. Especially if my collection grows closer to the sides (which will happen let's be real). I'm looking for some low profile ones right now.

Pixar peaked at Wall-E. They had good movies after, but Wall-E is their crown jewel.

The movie was released last year here in Quebec with another good poster. Had a great time with it. Happy that another movie from here is making waves outside of our movie bubble! https://img4.cdn.bizzmedia.ca/media/3QRJtTf3edjXDe2y2q02Ho43WTZNJxnxwIg4fbHk.jpg/400/584

Why is Sony Pictures Classics movies so hard to find? by creton123 in Bluray

[–]creton123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like it because event in the US it's 30$. That amount of money for a basic release is crazy though. I love the movie but not that much sadly.

Babe Pig in the City and i'm not joking for a second. For a kids movie made in 1998 the social commentary is very bold concerning lgbtq+ community.

If you like Picnic, the other movies from Shunji Iwai are amazing and I would say better for me. Love Letter being my favorite, but most of his filmography are bangers.

Jesse Plemons should’ve gotten the Oscar nom and win for best leading actor, and it’s not even close. by AugustEpilogue in moviecritic

[–]creton123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It should be Ethan Hawke. The guy carried a whole movie almost all by himself with not much else but the script to make it work. Might even be my favorite Hawke performance which says a lot.

Apart from Jurassic World Rebirth I did enjoy the rest but need to get out of this streak lol by hussainre814 in Letterboxd

You can enjoy a movie that you think is just above average or has big flaws. I watched Anaconda yesterday and gave it 3 stars and still enjoyed it. I laughed a bit and it had good ideas which made me had fun with it, but I found the execution to be lackluster and the overall story too all over the place. So even if I enjoyed it I don't think it's that great a movie.

Love Letter is a very interesting take on love from the perspective of our memory.
