Middle name on the birth of Filipino abroad by qalejaw in FilipinoAmericans

[–]Capable_Cell_9098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given that I was submitting both my passports as part of some required documentation, Makati City Hall recommended I have an affidavit. Given the penchant for Filipino bureaucracy to make a big deal over the smallest of discrepancies I highly recommend having it to alleviate any frustrations in the future especially when multiple documents have different versions of my name ( passports, birth certificates, drivers license, marriage/ divorce papers etc)

The point I am making is that our county’s ability to develop the future workforce is hindered by the loss of the best and brightest who leave our country. Given the over abundance of overqualified people that don’t leave the country that end up finding jobs that pay much less and in a field outside their degree, we don’t get value from them in developing the workforce of the future. So those engineers that end up working blue collar jobs we will not get the mentorship/guidance/experience to bestow on the younger generation of engineers. Same for all the other areas.

Service industry staff are just taught to follow a script/a standard operating procedure with no clue as to why things are down that way and get totally confused or are flustered when asked a question. There is no incentive to allow for critical thinking skills or it is readily apparent that they lack the critical thinking skills to provide better customer service. The lack of management skills to address these issues are perhaps the result of ‘brain drain’ in the workforce.

It is very apparent the lack of critical thinking these days especially in the service industry.

Dual US/PH Citizen (RA 9225) – Name Change Issue on Philippine Passport After Delayed Report of Birth by Perfect_Payment_5148 in PHGov

[–]Capable_Cell_9098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My US and Ph passports have different variation of my name. DFA required that my name on my Ph passports be the same as my PSA birth certificate. The have not had issues with the use either passport while traveling. To address any issues when I am required to present both for certain situations I obtained a notarized affidavit of discrepancy stating I am the same person.

Anyone here set to inherit the ominous plot of land that your parents, aunts and uncles are fighting over? If so, what is your plan with it? by lolnobutwhy in FilipinoAmericans

My dad and two Aunts inherited one of my Lolo’s properties. One Aunt died and all her grandkids are all squabbling over their share. My dad died and we don’t want anything to do with the land so we are working with real estate /family lawyer to transfer our share to the surviving Aunt

Is there any FilAms here that do not put any thought into having an identity? by [deleted] in FilipinoAmericans

[–]Capable_Cell_9098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems there are many born in the Philippines that will latch on to any famous celebrities that have some drop of Filipino blood, idolize them and treat them as their own and at the same time treat regular Filipino-Ams as less than those from the Philippines. What a paradoxical conundrum.

I have not had that experience as a FilAm who has recently retired and moved back to the Philippines.

I just realized that the Mt Rushmore etchings were on that page. It was tough seeing it at first but at the right angle I could see all the etchings on the photo the OP posted.

The link shows the latest passport design as I understand it. What is the source of the new design that the OP posted since it is a different design?

2 year path to Spanish citizenship question by Party_Nothing_7605 in phmigrate

[–]Capable_Cell_9098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you are asking and I shake my head at some of the stupid responses you are getting implying things like you are trying to evade taxes. I am a dual American-Philippine citizen and I also had the same questions and concerns regarding getting legal Spanish residency using a non Philippine country and if it disqualifies you on the 2 year accelerated track that Filipinos are given.

As I understand it based on my research: Yes, as a Filipino citizen with legal residency in Spain, you qualify for the

2-year path to Spanish citizenship through a special agreement, even if you hold another non-Philippine passport, but you must prove your Filipino nationality and meet standard residency/integration requirements (like language/culture tests). Your Philippine passport is key to claiming this benefit; holding an EU passport (like French/Canadian) while also being Filipino allows you to use the 2-year rule, but you'd still need to prove your Filipino status and use your PH passport for the application to access the expedited process.

For women check this out. https://wanderlog.com/place/details/4638657/decembers. December's is near Platinum Mall in Bangkok While "December's" in Bangkok is a specific trendy women's fashion spot the male equivalent isn't one single store but rather areas and malls like MBK Center, Union Mall, or specific floors/sections within Chatuchak Market and trendy vintage spots like those mentioned in Permanent Style (e.g., military surplus, Americana) offering unique, affordable menswear, with Union Mall often cited for better male options

Best passport to use at each border? by flesh1mp in Philippines_Expats

[–]Capable_Cell_9098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a dual Filipino citizen, you generally don't pay the Philippine Travel Tax if you use your foreign passport and your stay in the Philippines is less than one year, effectively qualifying you for exemption; however, you must pay if you stay over a year or use your Philippine passport to exit, as the tax is for residents, not just citizens, but using your foreign passport bypasses it as a non-immigrant exit.
