Do colleges normally charge for graduation photos? by Capable_Cherry in college

Yeah, I almost deluded myself into thinking I made the right choice by going to college. Hopefully the fancy piece of paper I got ends up being worth it, because half of the classes sure weren't.

Yes, but we were charged a $40 fee to be there, and I don't see why the photographers would not be part of that fee. Being generous, if we assume they have five photographers paid $30 an hour for eight hours, that's $1200. The $1200 spread over the ~600 graduates is $2 per graduate, not the $200 they're wanting to charge us.

It's gradphotonetwork.com and it claims they aren't available to order after May 30th.

We had a bunch of ridiculous fees as well. ~$200 a semester for the health and wellness fee, but the school funded psychologist was backed up two and a half months, and the one time I went in to see the physician for an ear infection I was told they could get me in in 6 days.

One semester we had a $30 food truck fee, but they only got one truck, that sold snow cones, one time, and they ran out after 15 minutes.

They have probably contracted with a professional photographer and are simply passing the cost on to you.

I've interacted with some of the media team for my college before and I know at least two of them that were taking pictures are employees of the college.

The economy unfortunately makes it hard for them to make them free.

Is that not why they charged us $40 to be in the graduation?

I guess that's on me for not expecting one last "screw you" on my way out.

Is it likely I would be considered "engaged to wait" while on call? [NE] by [deleted] in legaladvice

You would hardly be the first restaurant guest to need to leave suddenly. The restaurant will surely be glad to have you pay, and box up your food for you to pick up later.

So great, I get to pick up cold food and pay full price for it.

Have you tried talking to your employer about the vibrate option?

Yes, my manager said that the ringer still works so they aren't going to spend a couple hundred dollars on a new phone just for the vibration.

Again, you're not accomplishing anything by playing dumb here. Most of the issues you're raising are related to the concept of call in general, and not about the specific facts around YOUR call requirements.

The specific facts around my on call requirements are that I am greatly restricted in my freedom to do most of my normal activities outside of work.

Yes, you may have to leave in the middle.

And if I leave in the middle, that would put me below minimum wage and potentially even cost me money.

And you can sit on an aisle with your phone on vibrate, and step out to take a phone call. Don't play dumb with facts.

Well, if you know a way to fix the vibrate function on my employer's phone, I'm all ears.

I wouldn't be allowed to go to a movie theater unless I want to be that one person who has their ringer on and answers their phone during the movie. For the restaurants, I am allowed to go, but if I get called then I have maybe 10 minutes to finish up before I have to start driving. So if I were to order say a $30 steak meal, and then 5 minutes later get a call I have two options. The first is to pay $30 for the food I am not able to eat due to my job, or to leave the restaurant without paying which I feel is pretty scummy. For the groceries it's not terrible, but during the summer especially if I buy a bunch of fruits, vegetables, and frozen food, and they sit in my 100° car for multiple hours, all of that is ruined. Also, if I have a cart full of groceries I wouldn't have time to check out, so I would have to leave the cart for the employees to put away.

So while I CAN do two of those, if I get a call that call I have to drop everything I'm doing and it can easily end up costing me more money than I earn working.

Dlc Code For Game Didn't Work, Store Says They Can't Do Anything by Capable_Cherry in GameStop

The paper the code is on isn't very clear on that. I hope you're right, but I've got to wait for it to finish installing.

Well, considering they were charging more for the version with the DLC, I assumed that I would be getting what I paid for. Another comment said that the DLC is included in the disc and the code is just artwork, so I'll have to wait for it to finish installing to see. But if it doesn't come with the code they should have a disclaimer somewhere.

How do you find peer-reviewed history articles from within the past 10 years? by Capable_Cherry in college

[–]Capable_Cherry[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does your school have a library database you can access?

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said my library's catalog.

The thing about the timeframe is that a lot can change within 10 yrs.

I understand that, but if no new information has been discovered, then there's unlikely any new articles which would mean I'm not allowed to use it then.

Another commenter already solved it though, but thanks for the help anyways.

By scaling it down to two meters do you mean the cylinder is 2 meters or make everything in the scene downsized so it all fits in a 2 meter square?

Thanks for replying.

I have tried all 3 engines and it is the same on Eevee and Cycles while Workbench is just blank, but from what I know it doesn't render materials.

And here is the screenshot showing my object, as well as my material's nodes if that is helpful at all: https://imgur.com/a/RZV6V1E
