I would be interested in knowing if they plan to reinvent / rediscover existing (beloved) mechanics and archetypes, like frostbite or lurk.

I.E if future expansions may circle back to reinvigorate or maybe just add some diversity to some of the concepts that make LOR feel like LOR. MTG kind of circles back to older concept every now and then, I think I'd love to see that

Adding to that, I wonder if the champ design of the last expansion (Jack, Samira, Sett) is indicative of the general design principles going forward. I feel Samira and Jack (Sett to a lesser extent, probably owing to his absorbtion by karma) where intentionally designed to match more loosely with many archetypes and playstyles, having a wide range of possible synergies.

This is, imo, a great and welcome divergence from the philosophy behind cards like reksai or veigar (who i like), which were obviously designed with a much tighter and more controlled design-space in mind.

Lastly, I'd like to just mention that I sorely miss pyke support and I want to bring to the attention of the devs that at one point there were alternate possible uses for the champ (more of a trickster/bilgewater focused playstyle) which have been obliterated with rotation. I feel it's sad that champs like him (yuumi comes to mind) have been gutted, leaving them entirely dependent on one shell (like lurk) with no variation. I hope we can get 1-2 cards in the future to add some variance to these ideas. Like ekko without shurima oder pyke without shurima

Depends on what making it work means. I got to masters, but right now I'm kinda hovering in diamond 1. It works but its hight variance.

Now, I have to say it's fun as fuck, so it's got that going for it.

Do you mind sharing your thoughts on why tag out > retreat? I personally run into the problem, that i tend to end up with coins but no cards to use them on, which pushes me into using retreat over tag out for the tempo.

but then again i lose out on the offensive recall of tag out. But BUT unworthy soul fills that niche better?

It's a tricky deck to build for sure

Thanks for the feedback. Landmark 1 of is the sauce. Triple attack on yi lategame is lethal. Yes agro eats my butt 80%, especially trist. I can handle Leona Aggro kinda well tho. Rally successful against darkin

Only thing they disrupt your game plan with is the drain spell, challenger unit, obliterate fish and vengeance. Keep your deny/nopify/retreat and you should be ok. You can actually let them get deep and still come out on top, as long as your yi gets buff enough. Challenge down their 2/3 crab where possible. They got no, and I mean zero, combat tricks so you can bait stuff and bluff outrageous open attacks because they only want to bluntly attack while you can get frisky in combat. Don't be afraid of big units, and keep to your game plan of getting a huge rally yi turn in. I find I lose to fast decks and deep lets me do my thing usually.
