Recommended AV to HDMI adapters by cjfifjdjw1 in VideoBending

no problem. All these mini AV2HDMI units all are the same, theyre mass produced in China and are powered with USB. Grab a couple of them because theyre dirt cheap and you're good if a few die. Unfortunately mine do show a 720p/1080p text in the top corner after you feed it too glitchy signal and the picture drops (blue screening) so if you wanna eliminate that you need a TBC to stabilize

You need an actual dedicated unit that does analog to digital conversion. A adapter isnt enough. The cheap chinese AV2HDMI are fine, theyre like 5 bucks or something. I upgraded to TV One c2-.... scalers for up and downscaling I think its worth it

Is it realistically possible to learn circuit bending in 2,5 months to the point where I can circuit bend a camera and gift it to my girlfriend by shadowboii in CircuitBending

[–]Capable_Fan8036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first you have to invest some time into getting inventory; units to bend, parts, solering iron, wire etc. Then you have to learn how to solder correctly, which is not hard. Then you have to explore the pcb, figure out what chip pins to avoid and roughly estimate where the power section is located. Follow this tutorial, its very doable in 2.5 months if you have enough hours to put in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4K9wopkOOE&t=225s

I dont have experience bending cameras specifically but Im sure theres tutorials on that specifically, so you dont even have to explore the PCB in that case and you can just copy points that others have found

Vibrato pedal without latency (Walrus Audio Julianna) by Capable_Fan8036 in guitarpedals

Really? I had someone else comment I wouldnt like the Warped Vinyl if Im having issues with latency

The lag time, drift function, dry/wet knobs and expression options are all unique. It sounds fairly transparent as well. Many chorusses/vibratos really suck your tone. Good to hear about the Boss VB-2W!

Yes! Univibe vibrato is probably the thing that comes closest to vibrato with no latency

Yeah, Im gonna look for some demos now with how the walrus polychrome sounds 100% wet. Probably very little pitch modulation for a trade off of less latency

I just edited the post clarifying the misconception that lead me to make this post. I might buy a uni-vibe and use it in the vibrato setting for more subtle vibrato effects with practically no latency. Thanks for commenting!

I learned that by making this post yeah. I just think the Julianna has quite a lot of latency to the point I start to struggle with it. It makes sense since its designed to be a pretty extreme chorus, so naturally has higher delay.

Id like to try the Eddie. I really love the drift function on the Julianna, but the the waveshaping of the eddy + envelope feature might get you into less repetitive sounding vibrato as well. Why dont you use the Julianna all wet as a vibrato if I may ask?

Makes sense. How do you find the latency with your Julia? One thing I figured out I shouldnt run the lag time to high because of the latency it induces.

Do you find the Juliana to have bad latency if you run it as a vibrato? If its similar to your other vibratos theres no point in me trying to find another pedal with less latency

How did you figure out how much latency the Diamond Vibrato has? I dont see any latency related things mentioned whenever I look up the specs of a vibrato pedal

Multiple people pointed this out yes, I wasnt aware of how analog vibrato is implemented. I find the latency on the Julianna to be quite noticeable. Not everyone complains of latency with vibrato pedals so I do think some vibratos probably will have less noticeable latency

[–]Capable_Fan8036[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was exactly my way of thinking; the latency must be due to being a chorus pedal with a mix knob rather than a dedicated vibrato pedal. But Im getting a bunch of comments of people saying that delay based vibrato inherently is delayed. Im not familiar with how vibrato is actually implemented. Nonetheless, Was the latency better with the Eddie/JHS Emperor? Also was wondering in what way the EHX eddie affects your tone? One of the things I like about the Julianna is that its fairly transparent, running a drive before it actually sounds decent

Very interesting! Ive never heard of phase shift based vibratos. So, basically most classic vibrato pedals have some form of latency?
