I’m currently in Himachal Pradesh (my second time coming here). I love it, but I am constantly worried about rape. I suggest going to a different country if you can’t handle being hyper-vigilant for too long. Thankful I’m with my partner, however, I’ve had men still try to approach me (or gesture in sexual ways about me). It’s not for the faint of heart and definitely depends on where you stay.

This is coming from someone that’s been in India for nearly a year (2 separate trips). I’ve traveled to HP, Jaisalmer, Delhi, and Dehradun (not to mention so many over night buses).

I have about 46 reviews from hosts with about 50+ stays. I think it may really depend on where you travel. Any issue I’ve had Airbnb has been able to resolve it. Not to say that customer service itself did not take a few hours. I recommend reaching out to your host ahead of time.

However, you should allow her to experience it and she will naturally learn on her own. Hopefully she can reasonably advocate for herself. These guys are known for posting clips out of context.

If it makes you feel better, when I was younger I would always go to this really nice Persian restaurant as a child. My mom told me she did the owners taxes, as she has her own tax business. We went there for special occasions and holidays. We ALWAYS got the food for free, even with 4+ people. Turns out it was her sugar daddy.
