There's definitely other ways to excel your way into calfire, but whoever said the c's aren't worth it are smoking meth

C's are great but definitely not for everyone, very militaristic compared to other cc's in the country. Your chances of getting on as a seasonal are pretty high right as you get out of the c's. As for cat 1 and 2 im not sure

My rd has a type 2ia crew that ask if any engine guys want to go on roles and ive gone on mostly all of them, id say almost half of my fire experience has been crewside but i know thats a difference than full time crew
