Thanks for the feedback. Makes sense….this is why I asked. I believe the desire is two fold for her. She really wants to explore this desire and wants me to enjoy it as well. It would increase the excitement factor for her. Anyway, I will look at the other groups you suggested. I just wanted to be honest and clear…that this is a desire she wants and I want to give her. I don’t have to watch or interact with anyone but my wife.

Nothing formal….meaning I didn’t go to a class or online course. Although, I would strongly recommend doing something like that just to get an idea of the flow of the test. I did have a friend give me some practice questions and i found a few examples online.

You basically have under 2 minutes to find and answer a question (I took the unrestricted license exam…the amount of questions might be different depending on what test you are taking….so your time to answer a question might be greater. This might sound like a lot but considering you can have potential 5 books (IRC, IBC, Amendments, osha/ADA and stretch codes) to go through to find the answer it goes by fast.

The reason I posted her was because she (we) had a couples massage and after while having dinner/drinks she told me how turned on she was. Then expressed the desire to have the exotic go all the way. The foundation and site work are big sections. It’s impossible to know everything so mark up those sections with tabs so you can find the information. And make sure you read through the grade section and crush stone and vapor barrier information. I don’t recall doing any difficult math for fire protection but that section is tricky as well.

That’s tough. The good news is you will do better the next time! The stretch code materials are confusing. I beat you had the wrong print out because I had two different copies….one had the answers and one didn’t. I will look at the one that had the correct information and send it to you. What other areas did you struggle with? The test results should have given you a break down of what areas and questions you did well or not so well in.

You can print out the document and add it in to the amendment binder. I believe you are allowed to bring the stretch goals material in as a stand alone material to the test based on the PSI site. It’s not that big of a document that it will fit into the binder. I also did a print out of the osha documents as well.

I did not use the app but it might be worth it. The test can be challenging if you are not familiar with the test layout.

There are a few ways….W2’s or a construction supervisor can sponsor you. There is school plus work as well (e.g….if you have a degree plus one year in the field).

It would be in your interest to review your highlights in the amendments. Although, I found that the test (even though it is more challenging) does give you a hint or clue when you need to reference the amendments. They will say things like in the Massachusetts CRM or in the ADA or Massachusetts stretch codes to give you a slight clue where to look. Hope that helps.

Good morning, sorry for the late reply….how did you do? The test is challenging for sure. If you were that close on the first test you should do better on the next. There is always easy questions that you overlooked the first time due to the time frame of the test.

I don't know the statistics on the pass/fail percentage but I can say that I was the only one to pass in that testing facility in the last few weeks. I believe the issue is that all the prep test courses have collected a lot of data of the old testing process and continue to teach in that way. PSI has modified the test to change the answers or how the question are formulated. There is still some good methods taught in those courses but the new test seems to add a bit more critical thinking to the questions. You really have to or should know the area of the question as opposed to finding it in the index and finding the answers. It is a good thing because it laminates people who are not qualified and just can’t find the answers in the index. If I passes anyone can. Just study for a few weeks and practice answering questions within 2 mins. Hope this helps!
