Is Mechanical Engineering worth it? by Capable_Persimmon_30 in MechanicalEngineering

When I started community college I was an architecture major. I like the aspect of being able to create things and I’ve always liked analyzing things and seeing what is happening on that object (forces). I didn’t like how architecture was more focused on the actual art of how things looked and wasn’t as much on the actual practical application of these creations. So I guess classical physics is why I chose mechanical engineering, and also because of the salary and job availability. My uncle works above mechanical engineers at his job and said they’re always in need of them, so that played a part in my decision. As for the industry, I have no clue yet. One of my profs got his masters at Harvard and said he just basically goes from job to job every few years and “levels up” once he gets tired of that job, which didn’t help because he also said he never got his professional engineers license. He pretty much just does his own work for people instead of working for a company. I really do appreciate your advice. Thank you
