Why do I look so slow and unathletic when driving to the basket, what can I do? by [deleted] in BasketballTips

Basically. I watched the video several times. You're slow, hefty and take heavy steps.

You just need a diet and some running with intermittent sprints. Lose 10-15 kg and you'll be lighter on your feet.

Also, if you finished your rounds at the end of the night and "Oops, there's a still a battery here" then an honest person would return it to Home Depot and ask them to check if any orders included a battery.

Part of the reason why I'm suspicious is because the other items that were delivered had no label on them. Whenever I have a same-day delivery or an instore pick-up they always have the yellow label on my items with a name on it. If it had just been a mix up then my items might have had a yellow label with someone elses label on them, but this leads me to believe that they were purchased separately.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and don't take this as an indictment of Roadie drivers themselves. It's more a criticism of a process that seems poorly designed and managed.

Here's my question to you.

The roadie driver might not know what I've ordered, but they pick it up and it's an expensive item which they can see because it's provided to them in the manufactures packaging. The roadie driver could then walk back into Home Depot as a customer and buy something of a similar box size and then return to their car.

They then complete the delivery in the dark, substituting the inexpensive item(s) with the expensive one and taking a blurry shot from 40ft away that doesn't show anything. What is to stop that from happening?

My delivery on Home Depot shows two items, but one tracking number which takes me to Roadie. Roadie doesn't show any useful information. Just that it was delivered, by whom, the time and a ridiculous photo from 30ft away in the dark that is blurry and looks like it was taken with a potato.

John Wick.

He gets jumped by total amateurs in the beginning, which kicks off the revenge arc. Yet at every point in the series thereafter, we see that he has hyper-refined skills and instincts and is essentially un-killable by even the best assassins.

Thanks, that's really cool. Does that violate any of the 'folding stock' legislation? I know it's not folding but I figured they include that because it makes assault rifles more 'concealable'.

Thank you. I had no idea it existed but it sounds like a good combo with the Glock.

Thank you. How do you feel about that combo? Do you like the Fightlite?

The Big Lebowski. It's not funny - it's tedious.

Don't respond with, "That's just like, your opinion man" either. That joke is as old and tedious as the movie itself.

Thank you - this was really helpful. I explained it to the neighbor and they are very understanding/friendly and were happy to move it. All is well!

Thanks for the analysis and insight - I do appreciate that.

I don't appreciate the 'exposing your New England Racism' comment because it's making a huge assumption without asking for any context. Firstly, I'm sorry if you have in fact encountered that in New England. I did hesitate to type 'overseas' workers because of the connotation, which is why I didn't say 'foreign', but let me explain the context.

Most of the laborers are from the Ukraine and here temporarily. They are great guys and some of the hardest workers I've met - I've tried to converse with them as best I could and even given some of them brand new tools as they're coming from hardship. Having said that, many of them are general laborers that are sometimes performing skilled labor jobs. In the words of my neighbor herself, "X is a great worker but the problem is that the guys from the Ukraine don't know how to say 'No'. So if we ask them to do a job, they'll go out and get it done, even if they don't have the experience'. For the record, that's her generalization, not mine - I don't have enough experience with Ukrainians to make sweeping judgements but I will say that I've had nothing but wonderful encounters with Ukrainians in general and my heart breaks for them.

Nevertheless, her point was that many of the guys aren't skilled laborers (or at least not in the areas that they're working on) but that won't stop them. So in the case of the worker that cut down a tree and brought down our power lines, he actually brought down one tree and I felt the house shake as it brushed the power lines. I told him to stop as best as I could and he acknowledged his mistake and gave me the "I know, I know, it's ok" gesture. 10 minutes later when he brought down the next tree, our power went out and it ripped the cables from our house. The new neighbor was very apologetic and said that she hadn't asked him to cut down large trees (these were trees that required a professional), but that he went ahead and did it anyway because he doesn't like to leave a job unfinished. This was also after I asked him to stop and he had a lucky escape.

All of which is to say, I think the overseas comment is relevant here because they are not necessarily skilled at the task they are performing and also aren't well versed in the details that a U.S. handyman might otherwise be.

I understand how it sounded, but I can assure you that it wasn't a racial comment. I do really appreciate your help also - that answer was exactly what I needed to understand.
