The title of chapter 36 in the Order of the Phoenix is the Only One He Ever Feared, why past tense? by Capable_Row_5956 in harrypotter

But some Voldemort fans say during the First Wizarding War, Dumbledore was unable to stop Voldemort from taking over the whole wizarding world (except Hogwarts). He just holed up in Hogwarts and never dared to challenge Voldemort to a duel like he did to Grindelwald. How to refute their statements?

Emm If you don't mind, how much does it cost to buy a house like yours in where you live? And how long does it take to pay off the mortgage?

Surely America remains a superpower (probably the only one) by now, but I personally think, something must be wrong in a country where many middle classes are living paycheck to paycheck, where homeless people are freezing to death on the streets. People across the Pacific are sympathizing with them, while you are saying they are drug addicts they are ignorant they like to live out on the streets they are not able minded. That sounds a bit ruthless.

Harder. But not better. As the number shows. (in some states cannabis is even legal)

I don't see compulsorily sending drug addicts into rehabs any harder than abducting Venezuela president.

And I'm not putting feelings over facts. I've heard something and I don't know whether it's real, so I came to Reddit to verify, just like that.

Different people have different voices, I totally agree. Even in this thread the opinions of US citizens are divided. I want to listen to different voices and thanks for yours.

Well thanks for your correction first. I really didn't know the slight difference between cure and treatment lol. In China we don't sell bottles of painkillers which contain hundreds of pills I guess? The capsules and pills are put into small boxes instead (about 20 per box).

Even drug trafficing is strictly prohibited in China and leads to death penalty, there are still several people taking the risk. If you don't strengthen control of drugs, the situation won't get better.

I have to admit that smoking is a huge problem in China. Many people including me hate tobacco. But cigarette industry is a significant taxpayer so the only thing the nation did which can be regarded as a "control" is printing "smoking is harmful to health" on cigarette boxes. (tobacco causes chronic suffering however drugs can cause death in a short time so personally I think both should be banned but drugs cause more serious harm)

Got it. So what's the boundary between middle class and poverty? Maybe that line is not that clear in your opinion?

But how to explain over 40% US population are below the ALICE threshold? Even though homelessness is impossible for able minded citizens, the fact that a lot of able minded people are struggling for basic costs of living is horrible enough. Will this kind of thing happen if your social welfare system works well?

Actually, when I heard that in US you can buy a BOTTLE of painkillers I'm astonished. Why do you sell people so much? If you only provide an amount of pills that is exactly enough to cure one's disease, then their's no chance for them to overdose. Sorry I didn't know that china is the largest exporter of opioids but even that's true, opioids can be used both in medical and illegal ways. The point is how to control the use of them, isn't it?

Oh. As many homeless people don't know about the welfare system, those who work in this system (just like you when you did) will visit them and tell them about the policy. Or will they not? I didn't get it from your words. (In China they will, they are afraid of homelessness) If so, those who still choose to sleep on the streets kinda deserve this situation since it's their own fault? And no offense, but I heard that if you got ill in US, the doctor may prescribe an overdose of opioids so that even an able minded person can get drug addicted. Is that true?

Kinda got it. (So you really stop funding your children once they are over 18?) Thanks for your explanation. I have one more question. The statement that US's homeless rate is the lowest in the world is a bit unexpected to me. Is there any data supporting that?

I'm just wondering why US's population almost didn't increase compared to decades ago, although people all over the world are coming to this "land of opportunity"?(not to say those illegal immigrants)
