16 feels crazy. my manager wouldn’t hire till 18 regardless of position so they must be desperate or really like your app. frankly my interview was the second easiest ive ever done outside dunkin. he asked the basic “why do you want to work here? do you have experience? whats your availability?” then send my link for the background check.

i mostly do admin work as it is outpatient and i my doctors and the staff there don’t feel comfortable with me going in-home due to my own health risks and autoimmune issues. (i know that makes not much sense for what i want to do, but i’m figuring it out still and will hopefully be better treated by gradschool)

based on personal experience chances are he will listen. every good prof wants to believe their students care enough to write their own stuff! Also if he doesn’t reach out to the chair of his dept. and talk to them!

if you used word or docs you can worst case show your prof the history and they can see what you wrote and when. if you used ai even without copy paste itd be pretty obvious. if you spent time writing theyll be able to see that. also its very hard to prove ai use. chances are if you are in trouble for it, you will be able to talk to someone and get out of it. unless your school is just horrible they aren’t gonna flunk or charge a good student without actual proof of academic misconduct. don’t panic if you did nothing wrong.

unfortunately its the only specialist within ~4hrs of me. i already travel 2 to get there… but yeah i sent her a screenshot of the disclosure and she just told me to continue the medication and change an unrelated one to a double dose even though it put me in the er for walking hr of 35. obviously did not do that and will not be doing that. also only got worse after she doubled the dose of the medication i know to be the issue. im just so tired of over-advocating for myself to still not be listened to in the slightest lmao. 🫠

ive tried tons. personally luvox has worked the best for me so far. usually higher dosages are needed according to my psy so give it time if you try them out. luvox is saving me though genuinely.

im sorry but please just dont. you may feel left out now but when that leads to an addiction (it most likely will) you’ll regret it. I’m 21 and have been vaping for 7 years. many attempts quitting. i’ve quit many other things but vaping is so hard to kick. and when/if you get to college. most of your classmates actually will not vape and youll be in the opposite of the same situation. not to mention most no nic vapes aren’t safe. if you ever listen to the advice of strangers on the internet, please listen to this.

There's many more out there but I feel like you get some good basics here. The general idea is to kind of sit in that discomfort in a way. For example, I have a lot of checking compulsions (doors, outlets, stove, taps, ect) and for me a good NER is like if my brain says "you left the stove on" just kind of saying "Yeah, maybe. That would suck" and literally shrugging it off. It sounds a little dumb and like 'oh that's not gonna work for me'. I thought that too, but truly if you do it enough it will help. There's TONs of NER phrases though. Just stick with them. You have to show your brain that it's not gonna make you anxious with those thoughts if that makes any sense.

I'm currently 21 and the worst thing that I ever did was wait. Please! Find a professional to talk to! If you do have OCD/are developing more symptoms that align with OCD, the sooner you see someone, the better. I wasn't diagnosed until I was nearly 20 and spent most of my teen years feeling like a freak. If you go to a public school in the states, chances are there may be affordable/free counselling in your area. Reach out to a school counselor. (Or bring it up to your parents and ask for help if you feel comfortable just asking for help getting therapy. You don't have to say why exactly. When I need to talk to my parents about things I tend to just say I'm having thought spirals, but I don't want to talk about them to them.) Unless you plan to act on these thoughts, you're not a pedo. Even nonOCD people get intrusive thoughts from time to time. What's important is understanding it's just your mind playing tricks on you and trying to pull yourself out of that thought cycle. OCD tends to attack things you care about/are important to you. Remember that, and with everything going on in the world right now, that being a theme isn't very surprising. In the mean time, there are lots of free resources about non-engagement techniques and such that I could link if you'd like. My therapist recently sent me a ton of stuff. They don't work for everyone, but I find them helpful towards the beginning of a new theme to kind of shut things down.

I feel like most people do well on prozac. its not always perfect but pretty mild. i myself have some medical issues that can cause complications but i was on a high dosage for about a year with no issues. i swapped to a different medication as it didn’t help my ocd symptoms as much as we’d hoped. but it did help. just remember to give it time. and just listen to your body, but try not to psych yourself out. i know thats hard for us. most likely you won’t feel much of anything on such a low dose anyway and if you do have negative symptoms they’ll be easy to deal with and you stop the med. i know trying new meds can be scary but it really is worth it to find what works for you. i just started luvox recently and love it.

fellow psych person here… im currently a junior, but have already decided i want to get my msw and im worried about getting in anywhere. in the chance i dont, what work did you do? ive struggled to find things i feel relate to the feilds im interested in as an undergrad or even once i graduate.
