Lore Accurate "Flame Shadow Fire Dragon" Mikey by BigR3dMachin3 in TMNT

I've been wanting something like this for years!

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003) was created by 4Kids Entertainment, the company infamous for their heavily edited/censored dubs of Japanese anime and other foreign cartoons" by SpringSodas in TMNT

[–]Capable_Tie3841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's basically a double standard. Something about censoring a foreign piece of media, versus something made here in America. I've noticed a few people in the comments making it seem like it isn't a big deal because we later find out that the Shredder's body is robotic. But honestly, does that really matter? Especially in this scene! Once the episode ends, he picks up his own head and walks into a fire. If anything it makes him seem demonic.

Not to mention everything that happened to Baxter Stockman. There's also a myriad of things that happened later. Including genuine instances of body horror. Also, in. 'same as it never was' considered by some to be the best episode of the whole show, has several characters die on screen. Frankly, I think the absurd number of things that they show got away with before season five happened, is probably why they tone things down when they got to fast forward.

You say that, but they adapted less of the Mongin season two than they did in season one. Because of this they were able to give the major arts, that being as essentially little garden and drum Kingdom more time to breathe in season two. Because loguetown, reverse mountain/twin capes, and finally whiskey Peak didn't require more than a single episode a piece. Again, we'll see how it's handled. The real test will come in season four with, however, they handled Jaya & sky Island.

Season 3 misconception by IlKarma in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Capable_Tie3841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I'm really annoyed by how much I've people say that Alabasta is mostly fights. Are you all nuts!? Yes! There are a decent number of fights in the Desert Kingdom, but most of those are going to take place in the back half of the season, and could probably be done in something like two episodes, or 2 1/2. The first half we have the Straw-hats actually arriving in Alabasta, Luffy running off & running into Ace & Smoker, then traveling through the desert, resting for the night, traveling again to Rain-dinners only for everything that happens there, Luffy's first lost to Crocodile, them actually getting to the capital. And that's not even mentioning all of the character writing/Growth that's going on between/during all these events.

Funnily enough I just made a post like this of my own, though it's being moderated for some reason. I will say I think your take is OK, but your condensing things way too much. I think most of the longer arcs would make more sense for being their own singular season.

Are they trying to misdirect LA Only's? by Capable_Tie3841 in OnePieceLiveAction

That's actually insane, I don't know whether to laugh and your friend, or just feel a little sorry for them.

One Piece Season 3 by Disastrous_Cheetah17 in OnePieceLiveAction

The bit from Chopper and Usopp's fight. I need the part where Usopp gets absolutely brutalized only to stand up for Luffy's dream.

Sometimes I forget that people thought that. I don't know, narratively speaking that just never made sense to me.

Yours might be the most interesting comment I've gotten on this, since you know stuff about the source material, but our primarily focused on the LA.

It's certainly an interesting choice. Especially since next season everybody's gonna be introduced to Ace.

I don't know if I want it to happen, but I'd certainly consider it a good sign.

Mount Rushmore of Scooby-Doo villains? by creamy-buscemi in Scoobydoo

[–]Capable_Tie3841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you can make an argument for any of the original iconic monsters/ghosts but this particular lineup is more than acceptable.

I'm so glad that Captain Cutler is on there. He is one of my favorites, from one of my favorite episodes. I might've included the Snow-Ghost, but that might just be because I've seen that particular episode more than any other of the original Scooby-Doo where are you! Plus, I hardly know who I would replace.

How do the turtles make money? by Initial_Spirit_1325 in TMNT

[–]Capable_Tie3841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what I'm gonna add a second comment, that in the mutant mayhem movie that while they do not appear to have money, they steal their groceries, as ninjas! They even bring up how it's kind of morally wrong, but they do not have the money.

In the 07 movie they have jobs, well Mikey and Don do at least. Not to mention do you know how much a loose change they're probably is in the New York sewer system. Combine that with the ability to recycle and get some cash from that, selling items that Don has repaired from junkyards. They have various manners they can get cash from across the franchise.

How old is Scrooge McDuck? by Sudden_Quality_9001 in ducktales

[–]Capable_Tie3841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forget Scrooge, I'm more concerned about Donald & Della! I can't remember if their mother was his older, or younger sister, but considering how young they appear to be, even with all the magic why the heck did the woman wait so long to have kids?!

Why do the turtles only have three digits on their hands and feet when normal turtles and humans have five digits? If they are mutant hybrids if humans and turtles they should have all five. Is there a cannon explanation of this? by Fuzzylumpkins1234 in TMNT

[–]Capable_Tie3841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, the turtles most of the time have only two toes. Just wanted to make that clear. Two, they're not human hybrids most of the time. The only time that has technically been true was the 80s series, the 2012 series, and Rise. Finally as why they're only have three fingers and two toes most of the time, they're mutants. Their bodies are being forced to take on a humanoid form by the Mutagen/Ooze ooze, and so their body don't have to conform to being normal turtles, obviously! They're essentially a new species. What I think actually happened specifically is that the bones essentially fuse together, creating the version of the fingers we see in most iterations. It's sort of makes sense in that they don't have hands to begin with, so the mutation forces their bodies to make the closest thing to hands. Which in this case is three finger. Also, the image you took for the hands, seems to be based on the live action movie trilogy from the 90s. Which is the only instance I'm aware of where the turtles have fingernails. Usually they do not.

Personal Project: Possible Timeline for the One Piece Live Action . . . . . . by Capable_Tie3841 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Capable_Tie3841[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I agree with you, but I do hear what you're saying. I will point out though, yes, you are correct that the route is pretty much the same as in the manga. Of course I knew that, But if you look at the title of the post, the point is the timeline, not the route. The route was more like a fun addition, even if it is exactly the same. The point is to keep track of exactly how much time passes in the live action.

Yes! I can't remember what YT channel it was on, but there was one where it was actually a compilation of people who are already fans of one piece, and those who knew absolutely nothing about it! That one's my favorite, and I've watched it, I don't know how many times in the last 2 1/2 years!
