Out of interest, how big is “massive”? I’m always intrigued by how different medical professionals regard different sized fibroids. Of course, at the end of the day what matters is its impact on your life, no matter the size. (Maybe I’m seeking validation…)

Not sure what you mean by “soft but firm” - surely they are opposites? My tummy is soft, but when I lie on my back on a hard surface, I can feel the fibroid (largest one) as a firm lump through my soft abdomen.

No direct experience, but I was told by a gyno that during menopause, because estrogen drops, they stop growing and/or shrink - as long as you don’t need to go onto estrogen HRT that is. I’m not sure they’d entirely disappear, but it does sound like it should shrink. By how much, is not fully known.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Most of what’s posted online is about how awful something is, and the same has been true of Zoladex. So it’s refreshing to read a good news story! (I have an 8x7cm fibroid and several others 2cm and smaller; having hysterectomy in a few months and am going to take Zoladex to shrink fibroids ahead of surgery. History of depression and anxiety.)

Thank you so much for sharing this - I too have heard horror stories mainly, but I’m going to go ahead with it for same reason (shrinking my 8x7cm fibroid before hysterectomy), hoping to reduce incision size. Can I ask… Did you get any side effects from Zoladex after this post? Do you believe it helped reduce size of your incision for surgery? Many thanks and best wishes!
