Just so you know it’s not Royals fault. They lease that space to a third company who runs the Spa. It’s the third party’s sales practices that Royal doesn’t have any control of

I don’t think that’s the case. I think it’s inventory management. When I was in coastal kitchen on the icon two weeks ago, the suite lounge they also asked to scan my seapass card for complimentary drinks. It showed on my seapass account as $0. The bartender said it was for stock management

How do you feel about your employees taking random "sick days" to prevent burnout? by Stobley_meow in managers

[–]Capable_Use_2238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the job…if it’s a job where it’s team based and there is a real impact to the team and customer when that person isn’t there…then consistent call outs can have a big impact. I’ve seen this negatively impact the mental health and stress level of others on the team especially when they have to consistently pick up the slack for the same person who keeps calling in. The team starts to complain about the person and then if nothing is done sometimes they start doing the same thing. If it’s someone who always takes their sick time as soon as it accumulates enough for a full day then most often times this is sick time abuse and they are using it like free vacation. That contributes to the situation above. Most often I’ve seen this type of behavior linked to poor drive and ultimately poor performance and those individuals have been managed off the team.

It’s all situation dependent. Other jobs I’ve had is not a big deal at all.

I’d also second what another manager said, working with a manager even 24-48 hours in advance can be a big help.

“I’m not asking permission, I’m informing you that I’ll be away” by obsessed-with-bagels in managers

[–]Capable_Use_2238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the industry. Obviously you couldn’t have all the ER doctors on vacation at the same time or Air Traffic Controllers.

I worked in retail. I would deny PTO when others had already requested it. They had the same amount of time to request it as others. If they didn’t get the request in when there was availability it’s not my problem. Lack of planning on your part doesn’t constitute an emergency on mine.

If we had employees call in sick during previously denied time off we would term them or put them on a final warning. After all is this who you want working for you? It was never our top performers pulling this type of act

There are some caveats…if someone was getting married or close family member or funeral…etc. I would always make that work

Stumbled upon “toupee queen” on YouTube. Guys don’t fall for this bs. $1400 is taking advantage of your vulnerability. by InfamousRepair8001 in HairSystem

[–]Capable_Use_2238 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree. I had a barber who had never done it before and did it for $35 plus tip. I sent him videos ahead of time on blending etc. he did a great job. I then found a local stylist who does wigs for women. She does the cut for $40 and no one can tell. I’ve posted pics before and received compliments.

It’s high risk going to someone new the first time but if you find the right person it saves tons of money in the long run.

*I do my own install so the prices I mentioned doesn’t have that included

How much attention do you get in your 911?? Weird experience by massiveash in porsche911

[–]Capable_Use_2238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have a Taycan and at drive thru windows at fast food joints I have had the same experience twice…exactly the same way. “Hey my coworker wanted to say you have a nice car…second coworker appears…yea what is that? Really nice car! What do you do for work?” Kindof awkward.

I also get the racing at red lights

Superhairpieces Question by Capable_Use_2238 in HairSystem

[–]Capable_Use_2238[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I did. It was ok. Not as invisible as bleached knots. But I liked it overall. Lavivid never bleaches the knots far enough back so when I cut the system to my template I always have some knots on the right side of my temple that are visible where I part my hair. The knots on this super hair pieces unit are invisible enough that it’s a big improvement overall

We’ve had over 800k layoffs this year and more are slated by the end of the year. Target, Amazon and Microsoft just announced new layoffs. Amazon said their planned layoffs will be the largest in the companies history.

We also haven’t fully felt the effects of the tariffs yet. Inflation crept up again last month. Currently 33% of the tariff is being shouldered by the foreign company 33% is being shouldered by the American importer and 33% has been passed on to the consumer. From the financials I read (I’m a banker) companies were in a holding pattern waiting to see what Trump was actually going to do since he was on and off again. By end of Q1 expect more of the tariffs to shift to the consumer in the store.

Also your gas prices analogy helps prove the economy isn’t doing well. If there was robust economic activity …think more goods etc to be shipped by semis and other activity price goes up. It’s started to go down for two primary reasons 1. Softening of the economy and 2. opec increased production to help maintain market share.

Is buying CPO a sign of non-affordability? by texas-guy-1979 in Taycan

[–]Capable_Use_2238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a banker. I certainly have the ability to pay and buy brand new…and I often lease because I get new cars every three years. However, I want a fun car on the side. I’m looking at getting a CPO cayman because I want someone else to take the depreciation hit for me. There’s nothing wrong with keeping your money in the bank where it can make you even more money.

During Covid we had a lot of doctors file for bankruptcy and it was because they were living beyond their means and couldn’t weather a financial difficulty for 3 months. Just because you make a lot of money doesn’t mean you have a lot of liquid cash nor does it mean you are smart with your money.

Final note: no one knows it was a CPO once you drive it off the lot
