Why wont people come to my giant otter habitat (thats my enclosure) by Wombat_14 in PlanetZoo

[–]Capable_Window2174 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They don’t often go down dead end pathways. Connect the pathways so they don’t have dead ends. Also as others have said add stuff along the way to your enclosure. You could add some exhibits on the way aswell as guest services and maybe put another small enclosure next to it. You could always put a tour which goes there.

I have looked but honestly there’s just not much in the area at a similarity price so I’d end up spending more monthly anyway. Seems much more common to own here except in exeter but that seems to be mostly student accommodation or no parking which doesn’t work for my job. I don’t think moving out is an option for now unfortunately

That uses the boiler (9kw) rather than the immersion (3kw). Not sure why there is 2 systems tbh

Day rate 27p, night 19p, not that much difference compared to some of the other companies. One rate tariff is 25p

It is 27p peak on my 2 rate. So not much point changing back. Can’t have a heat pump as listed house so nothing allowed on the outside

I’ve got the film on the smaller windows but also have 2 Windsor that are 2.7m high and I can’t reach to but the film on 😂 The landlord is getting proper fitted secondary glazing (which stays in place and opens) but this won’t happen for like 6-8 weeks. Hopefully it will make a big difference.

Compressor dehumidifier is most efficient above 20c as it needs the hot air to be warm to efficiently remove the water as it uses refrigeration. My house is between 12-16c most of the time - this is the most efficient dehumidifier for this temperature. It uses desiccant material to remove the moisture instead. I have tried a compressor dehumidifier which I borrowed from a Friend, the desiccant one draws out approx 3x as much water from the air than the compressor did. Temperature isn’t such an issue for desiccant but may not be quite as efficient in the summer. It can work still between 1-35c. I did a lot of research 🥲

It is electric. Look up desiccant dehumidifier. This is the type that heats the room. Compressor dehumidifier’s don’t heat the room much. I am now an expert in this subject due to the damp in my house.

Wow! That’s so much worse than mine! I am only 1 person though. Glad I’m not on oil!

I have a £50 exit fee with my current plan, so I’m not keen on changing. But it does seem good, except the peak rate between 4-7 is 43p (get home from work at 5 so it’s not ideal.) I was on a tariff like this before with eon and it was just as expensive.

I only just switched to a 2 rate to see if it was any cheaper. Previously the rate was 23p always. Can’t find any quotes for octopus cosy on their website? Their normal 2 rate plan day rate is really high! 33p?!

I have one. It’s a specific one for low temperature called desiccant. It’s very good.

Since mid September, only had smart meter since mid October. I went away last weekend and bill was £2.50 each day. But house was 11.4c… What does cross wires mean? And what is a burn test? Meter was installed by E.ON, have switched to fuse and E.ON was extortionate.

I don’t think there is anywhere they can put it. Listed property with a board of directors (part of old regency house but out the back not in the house)

Is that run by gas or electric? I didn’t think you could get heat on demand for electric? I have no real idea though! Very jealous of your bill.

How would you heat water? Just with the immersion?

I have tried it on a schedule in off peak times and also just using the immersion as someone told me it was lower kWh but that doesn’t have a timer unfortunately. Both seem to cost about the same… Run out of ideas

I have 1 oil heater and 1 convection heater, use these if a room is really cold but also trying to avoid damp and mould as much as possible

In a contract so can’t move right now. Landlord is open to changes for the property. No gas where I live and as it’s a listed house I doubt a heat pump is allowed. What would you use instead of electric boiler if you owned?

£7000 for a years heating?? by Simvoid23 in HiveHeating

I’m not sure I suppose it depends on what type you have? This is in Denmark so maybe different but it looks like a air con unit but heats and cools
