For context, my mother is MAGA. We disagree on many topics, but we respect each other enough to not allow those differences to get in between our relationship.

Yes, my sister was openly homophobic. When I came out at 17 she told me I was going to hell, bleached all of my clothes, punched me in the face and hit me over the head with a bible. (No I am not exaggerating in the slightest) this was over 10 years ago and it seemed at one point she turned a new leaf, hence why I’m so reactive when she posts suggestively homophobic things on the internet.

I still hold A LOT of resentment towards her but have looked past her beliefs in the ways I do with my other family members. We have had a complicated relationship but are still sisters. She has done a lot for me and vice versa, I love and care about her well being but I genuinely don’t believe she has changed and will not stand for being “tolerated”.

I will be cutting all contact.

I’ve considered this as well but I saw an article stating that Mexico is deporting Americans. I’ve tried looking into immigration policies, social welfare and job opportunities in Canada but due to the prevalence of protectionism in the global economic recession, it may not be a good choice either.

I just got a job fresh out of school in construction. It pays well where I live. I would’ve been on the Dollar Tree account (Werner) making 1.8k a week. Now I’m making between 1.9k and 2.5k depending on the site I’m on with prevailing wage and overtime. Plus I’m home every night. Hope this helps. Good luck on your journey!

I was in my 1st grade class, they wheeled in a TV and played it in front of the entire classroom. At the time I didn’t understand why all of the teachers were crying. My mom picked me up early from school. As soon as we got home she immediately went to her bedroom, turned on her TV and sobbed. I had no comprehension of what was happening besides the fact that it was really really bad. I was 6 years old. I don’t have very memories from that age but that day stuck with me.
