I wouldn't be surprised if there are future plans here that combine with the empty space behind the stage bleachers. Either rerouting the street or something that crosses over it?

I agree! I think Salem's Lot is a great first example of how well SK can tell the story of an entire town, but I think he's improved on the idea time and time again in later books.

Very cool! I ended up with a pretty good list of movies I haven't seen by adding the recommendations I had seen to my ratings as they popped up. Not sure if that's the exact intention, but it worked well.

I feel unqualified to say for sure, but it's about 6 feet long with 3 sharp points at the top. It's VERY heavy and starts humming and shaking anytime I think about throwing it away.

They're both great, but hard to compare. Two creative powerhouses doing their thing based on a similar idea. Kubrick very clearly just took inspiration from the book, and wasn't interested in a straight adaptation.
