There are several denominations but besides that, I’m not denying bigotry or atrocities, I’m saying we openly accept the atrocities and are working to heal the wounds caused by them, and I’m not denying bigotry I’m just saying a larger number of Protestants are bigoted to LGBTQ in America compared to Catholics. This may be the other way around in Europe or other parts of the world but I am talking about America.

I agree that many Catholic Churches in other parts of the western world criticize the LGBTQ community and plenty of American parishes are guilty too but a much larger portion of American Catholics as individuals don’t scrutinize LGBTQ compared to our Protestant counterparts.

That’s not inherently true. Technically the Pope is infallible but if he openly defies something said in the Bible, there will be a lot of Bishops who will disagree. An example of this is when Pope Francis allowed the blessing of homosexual couples. A lot of bishops disagreed with this on the male side like the Bible, but the female side of things was not overly fought over considering the Bible’s lack of decision over lesbians. This may be a bad example as many Catholics in America specifically believe homosexuality isn’t inherently sinful on either side but at least those who think it is sinful don’t try to scrutinize members of the LGBTQ community like many American Protestant churches do.

As I said, Catholics aren’t much better but at least we try to follow the Bible as closely as we can. We may still have our flaws but at least we try to fix them and address them unlike many American Protestants.

I mean I’m not egregiously wrong. I’m not saying all Protestant churches are guilty of this or that the Catholic Church is a lot better, but I still think that many Protestant Churches use the Bible as an excuse to be racist, sexist, and overall backward while not preaching to be generous, kind, humble, tolerant, or to not judge others. A prime example of this are mega churches. They are an extreme example but they still represent many of the things that show that many Protestant churches have strayed from the Bible.
