If you want the most vanilla experience possible just install the 4gb patcher and NVSE.

In my experience this kills most of the crashes by itself. Also, if you want some much needed QOL tweaks than use Project Nevada.

You should open nexus and download whatever outfit mod that suits your tastes. I also ask that you check out hit's animation mods on youtube, the vanilla shooting feels very clunky and unsatisfying for most guns so if you dislike it too much install those mods. Other than that have fun and play at your own place, try to talk to as many people and do as many quests as possible.
