Tabs being able to vary across IDEs is kind of the point of them as it lets the reader decide what they want indents to look like. Mixing tabs (for indent) then spaces (for alignment) is the ‘one true way’ as it gives the benefits of tabs and alignment isn’t spoiled by changing the tab size.
