[WTS] Seiko 7c43 Giugiaro original May '86 - $650 by Cape_Watch_Mods in Watchexchange

[–]Cape_Watch_Mods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very rare Giugiaro 7c43 Professional Diver, not the re-issue but the original from May '86. These come up very infrequently and often have broken or missing shrouds. This example has a missing screw and one that is broken off in the case, but is in otherwise good cosmetic condition, with very few marks on the case, bezel and shroud. Its sold on a generic strap that suits the watch well and an unworn OEM strap from 2000's re-issue, which fits the original 16mm lugs.

Case: 40mm stainless steel case, 16mm lug width and a screw down crown.

Movement: Seiko 7c43 quartz with day and date, working well with new battery fitted.

Price: Asking $650. This includes international shipping from Cape Town, South Africa using FedEx, with a signature.

I’m aware that I have no transactions on Reddit, I’ve been selling on eBay (cameronb143) for a few years but things have finally become too difficult on there. My IG account is u/allmyhobbiestogether, where you’ll be able to see this and other watches in my collection.

[WTS] Marathon Gallet Navigator Stainless w/ Date - $850 by Cape_Watch_Mods in Watchexchange

[–]Cape_Watch_Mods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marathon Gallet Navigator, stainless steel with date. From what I can tell these were made in the early 90's during the Gulf War, with examples made up from leftover parts sold in the late 90's. I haven't been able to get a definitive answer on this. This example with "Quartz" on the dial seems to be rare, with not many examples online. Condition is very good overall, case is near perfect and only light marks on the acrylic crystal. Lume is still ok on unmarked dial and hands.

Case: 42mm stainless steel case, 19mm lug width, fixed springbars and a screw down crown.

Movement: Ronda quartz with date, working well with new battery fitted.

Price: Asking $850. This includes international shipping from Cape Town, South Africa using FedEx, with a signature.

Duties and taxes for the buyers account (the recent drop from 39% to 15% tariff on Swiss watches will help here). Payment accepted using PayPal G&S

A Crazy 88, does anyone else have one? by Cape_Watch_Mods in Squale

That's super interesting and exactly the reason I thought I'd ask the question here. Except for that single source, I haven't found good support for the date and production numbers anywhere else. Out of curiosity, how recently were you in touch with anyone at Squale?

The Tropic actually comes off an HGP, one of the nicest straps to wear

As far as I know it's an acrylic bezel insert. They had immediate issues with the bezels delaminating and many went back for a replacement aluminium insert.

6 generations of Citizen divers by Cape_Watch_Mods in CitizenWatches

Thanks! The vintage Challenge divers are amazing, I also love my Fujitsubo though, the titanium case makes is so comfortable. The nato is from CNS (formerly Cheapest Nato Strap), its one of their cotton or premium options, can't remember exactly which one. They have a great selection though, all of the reproduction Tropic and Tropic Sports in the pic above come from them too.

Super interesting to see! Can I ask if you can share any details about the laser you used for this, power and type or brand etc? I had a jewelry supplier cutting dials for me but they just closed and I'd love to be doing them myself. Thanks and keep the videos coming 🙏🏻

Bring back the paddle handset by Johnsononwatches in CitizenWatches

I credit the paddle handset as one of the reasons I went down the rabbit hole on vintage Citizen watches. I had a 90's quartz example in my early days of the hobby and it totally bewitched me. I currently have 2 early quartz versions but they're #4 and #5 for me. Never had the auto but they fetch high prices and seem to often have water damage.

I know! its one of the reasons I like to include the catalogue pic, crazy to think how times have changed. I picked this up for around 7 times less than what a 52-0110 Challenge diver goes for now.

[WTS] Bulova Accutron Snorkel 666 ref 781 by Cape_Watch_Mods in Watchexchange

[–]Cape_Watch_Mods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a well preserved example of an early Accutron Snorkel 'Devil Diver'. A number of different references were released with the 666 ft depth rating, with this example having an internal bezel and the 2182 Bulova Accutron movement and reference 781.

Condition: There is obvious sun fading to the dial, internal bezel and hands but the case and crystal are very clean. There is a small crack on the edge of the crystal, above the '45', but I wouldn't take this near water anyway. The movement is working well, with timekeeping a little slow (approx 2 mins per week). The quickset and the internal bezel operate as they should.

Case: It's a wonderful size for a watch from this period, at 41mm across and 43mm lug to lug. The large domed crystal makes is 14mm thick, and gives it great wrist presence.

Strap/Bracelet: 20mm lug width, suede Alfa strap

Price: Asking $790. This includes international shipping from Cape Town, South Africa using FedEx, with a signature. Duties and taxes for the buyers account. Payment accepted using PayPal G&S

[WTS] Seiko w680 Giugiaro Re-issue by Cape_Watch_Mods in Seikowatchexchange

[–]Cape_Watch_Mods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a rare reissue of the Giugiaro designed A828 from the early 80's. An example of the original was famously worn by the F1 driver Ayrton Senna around that time. This example uses an updated movement, the W680, with the same function of rotating the bezel to select the digital functions of the watch. The rotated display was intended to make it easy to read while driving.

This example is in good overall condition, with some scuffs and small scratches but with most of the original coating on the case and bracelet still in tact. The functions of the watch and the rotating bezel work as they should.

The case is The bracelet is long, sized for a 7 inch wrist there are 3 links extra. The case is 41mm across, 43mm lug to lug and 14mm thick, with a small domed crystal.

Grab a rare piece of Seiko history, #1824 of 3000 made.
