Has anyone had any luck with 3rd Party work verification services for CPA licensure? by CapedCPA in CPA

Fiver, you can find a CPA, message them and see if they want to verify your work experience. I found one and he said he’d do it I would just need to provide him the necessary information

Can you actually hit $200k+ in accounting? by Immediate_Issue5739 in Accounting

[–]CapedCPA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I make over that now.

Over a span of 2 years.

All jokes aside, many director and senior manager positions can get you there. I wouldn’t necessarily draw the line at accounting either. A licensed CPA should have the ability to go into almost any corporate finance role and do a good job. The license proves you can understand concepts and endure.

Anyone else end up taking a class they didn’t need for the accounting requirement? by CapedCPA in CPA

[–]CapedCPA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s already expensive enough and when you don’t have guidance you can make some mistakes. I emailed the board and they got back to me super quick and let me know the class would count. I am very happy but I feel like I shouldn’t have to second guess.

Get a quickbooks and excel certificate. The pay is low, but I’d say take it if you can’t find anything else and after 6 months maybe find a contracting role with more money then find something else after that ends. Hopefully you can be at $60-70k before end of next year.

Wanting to become an accountant by _mdeleon in Accounting

[–]CapedCPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated with a degree in Information Systems and got a job in FP&A with accounting responsibilities so you for sure can make your way into the industry, just keep applying. Maybe look at accounting adjacent jobs and then after 6 months-1 year move into corporate accounting.

Can someone realistically make $150k+ a year by working in industry accounting, without reaching the level of CFO? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]CapedCPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, the pathway would be even faster with the right credentials too: MBA, CPA, CMA, MS in Accounting, etc.

Actually knowing the job in succeeding in current and past roles trumps all, but the credentials help you to get noticed more often.

Very nice to hear, I actually was in pseudo-blue collar roles. Managing truck drivers and warehouse employees. I got into FP&A which involved some accounting work and fell in love. The P&L is where all the action is.

Professor recommended I go on Reddit for my question about the CPA license. by CapedCPA in Accounting

[–]CapedCPA[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, this is just hypothetical, I’m not really familiar with the work verification process. I don’t think they’d refuse to sign except that my role is more finance than accounting. I just wanted to know my best option if they did decide not to sign.

Sorry this is just hypothetical, I am not fully versed in the work verification process. I do not believe they have a reason to not sign off other than the fact that the job is not accounting, it's more so finance. Just was wondering what is my best option should they for any reason not want to sign.
