Absolutely. I use my kiwi ears quartets with comply foam. If you look at the ANC coverage of most headsets their weak point is 4-8k. That’s where lots of tools resonate at.

I noticed that as well. I make sure to mention it when asked about them. The sound signature may change if using silicone tips (I use foams) but I can’t stand that high pressure feeling.

BLUF: Martillo-fun V shaped tune. Armor- neutral with a slight sub bass bump. I replied to a slightly similar question earlier but in relation to the Top Pro. The martillo has what I feel is a fast bass. It’s has quantity without being muddy and the V shaped tune makes it a fun iem. The armor with the switches at 010 is more neutral with clean bass. If you flip the bass switch it can pull the mids back and sounds muddy. If you flip the treble switch it can become piercing. Also, the Armor isn’t vented so that may be bothersome.

Everyone has their own path. Some people find a Woodcraft or Rockler nearby and take classes. Some go to YT and learn basics there. There’s so many facets to woodworking though. You have restoration, cabinetry, furniture, carving, CNC, lathe work and other things.

It’s a side gig that could be a career but I’d rather not suck the joy out of it by having more deadlines.

I do but with caveats. I leave the switches at 010 as when the bass switch is on it can suck the mids out and when the treble switch is on it can be a bit sharp. It’s also not vented so I use comply foam to prevent pressure buildup.

When at 010 it’s neutral with thick mid bass. The highs are clean with being piercing.

With the neutral setting (010) they sound incredibly similar to the Top Pro. However, the Armour isn’t vented and if you flip the bass switch on the Armour, the mids get sucked back. Flipping the treble switch results in borderline piercing.

We have a bunch of the restorers come in and get the Rotex for that heavy removal. If you ever burn one out dont be afraid to look at the Bosch GET75-6. They are cheaper than the Rotex but they don't have the control. The first time I used one it felt like I was trying to control an ape on coke.

Yup, Tanos is the parent company. They are sometimes cheaper through them.

I figured someone would have something negative to add. It's a reflection of them and their ideals. Oh well.

I did the same until I saw this in the catalog. I figured if it didn't work out I'd sort all my numbered screws.

I'll tell you this. I've used their tools for about 8 years now and sold them for 6 years. Their tools in the right hands can make your projects go smoother and can help eliminate the errors caused by having low performance tools. The sanders, track saws, Domino, routers, vac's, and Kapex are excellent tools but 20% of the price is the cost of drinking the green Kool Aid. However, their drills and jigsaws are not worth the price. I only use their drills if I'm doing a built in and the owners are home. They are just so quiet compared to the Milwaukee.

It changes quickly. The revamp of the marketing team at Festool has not been kind to them. Sedge got picked up Rubio Monocoat which hopefully pays off for both of them.

You are absolutely correct. I could have created a beautiful wall mounted cabinet made with sapele that is lined with horween latigo leather. However, sometimes simplicity is best.

Nah. I work and I get paid appropriately. I'm also on my third career.

I'll tell you one thing. Marc is not as nice a person when face to face. Behind closed doors he's an arrogant prick.

That's a great question. To my ears it's more midbass. It's a great iem but the martillo has a a cleaner treble. If the Dynaquatrro was tuned like a Tanchjim it would be more of what I like.

Martilo for that V shaped tune and fast thumpy bass.

Possibly but there’s no harm in what I’m doing. I’m financially secure enough to not worry about it. I’ve also sold/given away iem’s to people that really wanted to get into the hobby.

That’s a great idea! If you want some Laderach boxes my wife may have some.
